Using a directed forgetting task, we tested the hypothesis that repressors would be superior to nonrepressors in forgetting negative experimental material. Consistent with previous studies, there was an overall directed forgetting effect, with significantly more to‐be‐remembered (TBR) material recalled than to‐be‐forgotten material (TBF). As predicted,

To Forget or Not to Forget: The Effect of Probability of Test on Directed Forgetting
The Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology A, 1996Two experiments investigated how individuals use explicit memory cues that designate different probabilities of test. As in typical directed forgetting studies, subjects received words explicitly cued as having either a 0% or a 100% chance of being on a subsequent memory test (i.e. forget and remember cues, respectively).

A Forgetting in the Thesis of Forgetting
2020The Adornian thesis of forgetting treats a generalized process affecting all human beings without distinction within the capitalist form of life. In other terms, the thesis itself contains a point of forgetfulness, that of the specificity imparted to women in the moral economy of the capitalist form of life.

FORGETTING WE FORGET: OVERCONFIDENCE AND MEMORY
Journal of the European Economic Association, 2009Do individuals have unbiased beliefs, or are they over- or underconfident? Overconfident individuals may fail to prepare optimally for the future, and economists who infer preferences from behavior under the assumption of unbiased beliefs will make mistaken inferences.

Drawing from two disciplines, memory studies and theories on life writing, this chapter aims to interrogate different reworkings, negotiations, and representations of memory and forgetting in memory texts in order to investigate how writing on remembrance/forgetting influences literary form.

The result of forgetting some predicates in a first-order sentence may not exist in the sense that it might not be captured by any first-order sentences. This, indeed, severely restricts the usage of forgetting in applications. To address this issue, we propose a notion called $k$-forgetting, also called bounded forgetting in general ...

<p>During word learning, many words are associated with many meanings to build a lexicon. A model by McMurray et al. (2012) suggests that vocabulary acquisition may not only depend on building correct associations, but also pruning incorrect ones.

There are not many laughs in Alzheimer's. Rightly, the disease is portrayed in the media as pitiless, driving a spike into personalities and family relations. But One Life on BBC1 was different. Christine Lyall-Grant is a former copy editor for Cambridge University Press whose life is slowly unravelling.
