Experimental Analysis on Behaviour of Adhesive Scale in Hot Die Forging to Improve Surface Quality of Automobile Parts

open access: yesTribology Online, 2014
Deep dent defects on the automobile parts produced by hot die forging have become problems because the dents were disadvantageous to the strength of these parts. The dents may have been probably caused by scales of hot billets.

MXene‐Coated 3D Printed Horn Antennas for Ku Frequency Band

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An additive manufacturing approach to 3D printing horn antennas and coating them with Ti3C2Tx MXene is proposed. Rapid fabrication of lightweight, high‐performance antennas operating in the Ku‐band (12.4–18 GHz) has been demonstrated. The MXene‐coated antennas exhibit comparable electromagnetic performance to conventional, costly aluminum ones, with ...

A Biomimetic Basalt Fiber/Epoxy Helical Composite Spring with Hierarchical Triple-Helix Structures Inspired by the Collagen Fibers in Compact Bone

open access: yesBiomimetics, 2022
The lightweight property of helical composite spring (HCS) applied in the transportation field has attracted more and more attention recently. However, it is difficult to maintain stiffness and fatigue resistance at the same time.

Ultra‐Durable Information‐Encoded Anti‐Counterfeiting Self‐Assembled Nanocrystal Labels

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Ultra‐durable cost‐effective information‐encoded anti‐counterfeiting labels are fabricated to secure semiconductor chips. A novel method is used to self‐assemble colloidal quantum wells (CQWs) into color bars. Information can be encoded spatially, spectrally, and opto‐spatially.

Balanced Expression of the Diiron Oxygenase BioE Is Essential for Biotin Homeostasis in Elizabethkingia meningoseptica

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BioE is a new diiron oxygenase that catalyzes the conversion of long‐chain acyl groups into pimeloyl thioester, initiating biotin synthesis. The overexpression of EmBioE disrupts lipid metabolic homeostasis, requiring repressor BioL to maintain a balance between long‐chain fatty acids and biotin synthesis.

Rib‐Reinforced Ultralight and Ultra‐Strong Shell Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study thoroughly reveals the relation between the curvature and stress direction of triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) thin shell lattices and proposes a novel rib reinforcement design strategy to incorporate ribs along the line of asymptotes (LOA) and the line of principal curvatures (LOC) to enhance the strength of ultralight TPMS shell ...

(Poly)Borylated Species as Modern Reactive Groups toward Unusual Synthetic Applications

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
In this review, we spotlight recent breakthroughs in α‐polyboron‐substituted carbon‐centered intermediates (carbanion, carbocation, radical, and carbene) and polyborylated alkenes. By bridging fundamental reactivity with the application potential of these extraordinary species, we hope this review will serve as a roadmap for harnessing these unique ...
