Electron structure of topologically disordered metals
Here two methods for calculating the density of states of electrons in conduction band of disordered metals are investigated. The first one is based on the usage of one-parameter trial electron wave function.

FORM FACTORS IN THE FINITE VOLUME [PDF]
We study exactly solvable models of quantum statistical mechanics. Our main example is the Quantum nonlinear Schrödinger equation. This model can be solved by algebraic Bethe Ansatz. We are interested in the expression for a form factor of the local field in the finite volume [Formula: see text].

N to Δ electromagnetic transition form factors from lattice QCD
The magnetic dipole, the electric quadrupole and the Coulomb quadrupole amplitudes for the transition $\gamma N\to \Delta$ are evaluated both in quenched lattice QCD at $\beta=6.0$ and using two dynamical Wilson fermions simulated at $\beta=5.6$.

Tensor form factor for the D → π(K) transitions with Twisted Mass fermions. [PDF]
We present a preliminary lattice calculation of the D → π and D → K tensor form factors fT (q2) as a function of the squared 4-momentum transfer q2.

Small-Angle Scattering from Weakly Correlated Nanoscale Mass Fractal Aggregates
Formation of fractal aggregates is generally an undesired effect which may lead to end products with worse properties as compared to those of the individual components, especially in nanocomposite materials.

Temperature-Induced Errors in ITTC Model-Ship Extrapolation
This study addresses the question: “Does the towing tank water temperature affect the result of model-ship extrapolation?” While it is well-established that temperature variations affect Reynolds numbers and consequently frictional and viscous resistance,

The Analysis of Periodic Order in Monolayers of Colloidal Superballs
The characterization of periodic order in assemblies of colloidal particles can be complicated by the coincidence of Bragg diffraction peaks of the structure and minima in the form factor of the particles.

Fire as a Soil-Forming Factor [PDF]
In the span of a human generation, fire can, in theory, impact all the land covered by vegetation. Its occurrence has many important direct and indirect effects on soil, some of which are long-lasting or even permanent. As a consequence, fire must be considered a soil-forming factor, on par with the others traditionally recognized, namely: parent ...
