Wheel-Wear Compensation for Numerical Form Grinding
Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1986A new method for reducing the effect of grinding wheel wear on workpiece inaccuracy in numerically controlled form grinding of surfaces of revolution is proposed and analyzed. A mathematical model to describe wheel wear and contour production is developed for the grinding of a cyclindrical surface.

Form crush dressing of diamond grinding wheels
CIRP Annals, 2008Form crush dressing is a method to profile diamond grinding wheels. Especially for complex profiles with intricate details and high accuracy an improved form crush profiling system has been developed. The system consists of a hydrostatically supported form crushing disc embedded in a swiveling axis.

Peripheral Electrochemical Grinding with a Formed Wheel
1973An important application of electrochemical grinding is component production using a formed wheel. The paper presents an introduction to features peculiar to a peripheral configuration and discusses some experimental results obtained when machining a trapezoidal slot in Nimonic 105 using NaNO2 aqueous electrolyte solution and a Norelek formable wheel ...

An Investigation of Temperatures in Form Grinding
2000The temperature rise experienced by the workpiece during grinding may be calculated with reasonable confidence for simple shapes: cylindrical and plane surfaces. In the case of more complex forms, the thermal analysis must account for non-uniform temperature distributions that result from variations in contact conformity and material removal rates ...

Simulation and Optimization of Gear Form Grinding
Volume 6: ASME Power Transmission and Gearing Conference; 3rd International Conference on Micro- and Nanosystems; 11th International Conference on Advanced Vehicle and Tire Technologies, 2009Nowadays, the basic requirements of gear transmissions are not limited only to the more usual ones (like resistance, reliability ...), but often include also good efficiency and low vibration and noise emissions. Supporting structures, gear macro and micro geometry and textures are the key-points in the design of a geared system that fulfil the latter ...

International Journal of Computer Applications in Technology, 2007
In this paper, the mirror grinding of free-form surface was conducted by the use of coarse diamond grinding wheel. In this new grinding manner, the wheel moving direction is vertical to the wheel cutting direction, which is different from the traditional plunge grinding and traverse grinding.

Form Grinding by Mechanical and Optical Methods
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, 1950Methods of producing profile tools and gauges remained for many years particularly conservative and often expensive in the use of highly skilled toolroom labour. Up to comparatively recent times it was not uncommon to find high-class machine tools, such as jig boring machines, applied to the task of marking out centres of radii and so on, because ...

Grinding performance of a new micro-crystalline corundum wheel when form-grinding automobile gears
The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2018To study the performance of the new, self-developed micro-crystalline corundum wheel, comparative experimental research into the form grinding of a 20CrMnTi steel tooth using a new micro-crystalline corundum wheel, a Reishauer micro-crystalline corundum wheel and a white corundum (WA) grinding wheel was conducted.
