Forming Factors of Fractal Grinding Wheel Topography.

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society for Precision Engineering, 1997
This study has been done for the purpose of understanding the mechanisms by which the grinding wheel topographies are formed. The irregularity of distribution of grain tips over the wheel surface and the complexity of their morphology can be characterized by the fractal dimensions.

Atomic Size Misfit for Electrocatalytic Small Molecule Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores the application and mechanisms of atomic size misfit in catalysis for small molecule activation, focusing on how structural defects and electronic properties can effectively lower the energy barriers of chemical bonds in molecules like H2O, CO2, and N2.

Formation of subsurface cracks in silicon wafers by grinding

open access: yesNanotechnology and Precision Engineering, 2018
Single-crystal silicon is an important material in the semiconductor and optical industries. However, being hard and brittle, a silicon wafer is vulnerable to subsurface cracks (SSCs) during grinding, which is detrimental to the performance and lifetime ...

The dissolution and solid-state behaviours of coground ibuprofen–glucosamine HCl [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The cogrinding technique is one of most effective methods for improving the dissolution of poorly water-soluble drugs and it is superior to other approaches from an economical as well as an environmental standpoint, as the technique does not require any ...
