Effect of Solution Annealing Treatments on Formabilityof Stainless Steel Alloys

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2011
The effect of solution annealing treatment on the formability of three stainless steel alloys (AISI 321, GOST A917, and SAF 2205) has been studied. Properties obtained from tensile testing (strength, ductility, strain hardening index, and strain rate ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Development of origami forming to improve the flexibility of truss core panel design

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2014
Although honeycomb panel is widely used in various structure, its adhesive to glue honeycomb core and plate may burn by fire, leading to the requirement of another lightweight and high stiffness panel.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Formability prediction of damageable elastic-viscoplastic media by a material stability analysis based on a linear perturbation method

open access: yes, 2010
The originality of the approach used here is to present stability conditions of metallic materials modeled by general phenomenological laws and to apply them to the study of the formability of thin metallic sheets. The constitutive equations are based on

Stress relaxation for formability improvement

open access: yes, 2019
Improved formability has been reported due to stress relaxation when the continuous forming cycle is interrupted with steps by adjusting the punch motion. The contribution of stress relaxation and its parameters on the ductility of materials has not been

Parametric evaluation and predictive modelling of formability in μ-SPIF process [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
Single Point Micro Incremental Forming (µ-SPIF) is a versatile route for complicated, and customized micro-components. Localised deformation in terms of bending stretching and through thickness shears add the complexity in SPIF which intensifies in case ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
