FORMALIZATION, PRIMITIVE CONCEPTS, AND PURITY
The Review of Symbolic Logic, 2012AbstractWe emphasize the role of the choice of vocabulary in formalization of a mathematical area and remark that this is a particular preoccupation of logicians. We use this framework to discuss Kennedy’s notion of ‘formalism freeness’ in the context of various schools in model theory.

Formalization of protocol engineering concepts
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1991A vast variety of design principles and formal descrip tion techniques (FDT’s) have been advocated to help contend with the ever increasing complexity of communication system development. Unfortunately, the relationship between these principles and FDT’s is unclear.

2004
In this paper we propose a semiotic conceptual framework which is compatible with Peirce’s definition of signs and uses formal concept analysis for its conceptual structures. The goal of our research is to improve the use of formal languages such as ontology languages and programming languages.

FORMAL CONCEPTION OF ROUGH SETS
Fundamenta Informaticae, 1996In the paper we present a formal description of rough sets within the framework of the generalized set theory, which is interpreted in the set approximation theory. The rough sets are interpreted as approximations, which are defined by means of the Pawlak's rough sets.

Associative and Formal Concepts
2002In several fields there is a divide between formal and associative models of concepts and reasoning. For example, in AI associative models such as neural networks and evolutionary computation are distinguished from symbolic, logic-based approaches. In psychology, fuzzy or category-based approaches compete with the "classical" theory of classification ...

Fuzzy Concepts in Formal Context
2015Formal concept analysis (FCA) provides a theoretical framework for learning hierarchies of knowledge clusters. This paper is devoted to the study of the fuzzy concept in FCA. We propose a fuzzy relation on the universe to characterize the similarity of the objects.

Rough formal concepts and their accuracies
IEEE International Conference onServices Computing, 2004. (SCC 2004). Proceedings. 2004, 2004This research is concerned with rough concept, a synthesis of rough sets and formal concept analysis. This theory is more expressive than ordinary approaches in knowledge representation and reasoning. Like rough sets theory, this research proposes an accuracy computing approach to characterizing the rough formal concept numerically and the role ...

Probabilistic Formal Concepts with Negation
2015The probabilistic generalization of formal concept analysis, as well as it’s comparison to standard formal analysis is presented. Construction is resistant to noise in the data and give one an opportunity to consider contexts with negation (object-attribute relation which allows both attribute presence and it’s absence). This generalization is obtained

Formal concept analysis of multi-scale formal context
Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Humanized Computing, 2020The case that attributes have a single value is considered in the classical formal concept. However, real-life data involve multi-level attribute values, which means that attributes have different values on different scales. In order to deal with multi-level attributes, we introduce the concept of multi-scale formal context in this paper.
