Formal contexts in ontologies

2011 6th International Conference on Computer Science & Education (ICCSE), 2011
In this paper, an ontology is regarded as an information system in formal concept analysis. Then, based on theories of concepts, a formal context in ontologies defined by a set of properties is conceptualized as a concept with the extent and the intent.

Formal concept analysis of multi-scale formal context

Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Humanized Computing, 2020
The case that attributes have a single value is considered in the classical formal concept. However, real-life data involve multi-level attribute values, which means that attributes have different values on different scales. In order to deal with multi-level attributes, we introduce the concept of multi-scale formal context in this paper.

Contexts in Formal Semantics

Philosophy Compass, 2010
Abstract Recent philosophical literature has debated the question of how much context‐relativity needs to be countenanced in precise semantic theories for natural languages and has displayed different conceptions of the way in which it might be accommodated.

Epistemology, Context, and Formalism

2014
The main purpose of the present volume is to advance our understanding of the notions of knowledge and context, the connections between them and the ways in which they can be modeled, in particular formalized a question of prime importance and utmost relevance to such diverse disciplines as philosophy, linguistics, computer science and artificial ...

On computable formal concepts in computable formal contexts

Siberian Mathematical Journal, 2007
Summary: We introduce and study the notions of computable formal context and computable formal concept. We give some examples of computable formal contexts in which the computable formal concepts fail to form a lattice and study the complexity aspects of formal concepts in computable contexts.

Two Formalizations of Context: A Comparison

2001
We investigate the relationship between two well known formalizations of context: Propositional Logic of Context (PLC) [4], and Local Models Semantics (LMS) [11]. We start with a summary of the desiderata for a logic of context, mainly inspired by McCarthy's paper on generality in AI [15] and his notes on formalizing context [16].

Automated Context Formalization for Context-aware Specification Approach

International Journal of Information System Modeling and Design, 2018
Requirement specification is a key element in model-checking verification. The context-aware approach is an effective technique for automating the specification of requirement considering specific environmental conditions. In most of existing approaches, there is no support of this crucial task and are mainly based on the considerable efforts and ...
