Grounded Symbols as Operative Structures in Substrate-Independent Consciousness: Toward a Formal Framework for Quantum-Symbol Interface Theory

open access: yes
Abstract This paper presents a formal framework for understanding symbolic structures as operative rather than representational units within a substrate-independent theory of consciousness. Drawing on the Unified Consciousness Substrate Theory (UCST), we propose that consciousness is best understood as a substrate-independent recursive process — a ...

Grounded theory and constructivist grounded theory : history and development

open access: yes
In this first chapter, we introduce The Routledge International Handbook of Constructivist Grounded Theory in Educational Research. Following an introduction and overview, in Section 1.2, we trace the history and development of Grounded Theory (GT ...

A Grounded Theory on Obtaining Congruence in Decision Making

open access: yes, 2018
This paper is a grounded theory on obtaining congruence in decision making. It is a study on how people receive contradictory information, and how they go through the process of deciding which option(s) to select. Sometimes leaders (e.g.

Herbicide Metabolic Resistance in Poaceae Plants via the GA‐GID1/DELLA‐DOF2‐P450s Module

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Plant hormone signaling modulates herbicide resistance in Echinochloa crus‐galli. The GA–DELLA–DOF2 cascade directly activates P450 detoxification genes in two Poaceae species, uncovering a core mechanism of metabolic herbicide resistance. ABSTRACT Barnyard grass (Echinochloa crus‐galli) is one of the world's most important weeds, and the evolution of ...

A Blood‐Derived Factor Rescues ALS: Platelet Factor 4 Activates OPTN‐Dependent Autophagy to Clear SOD1 Aggregates Independently of PINK1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Systemic platelet factor 4 (PF4) is significantly depleted in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Peripheral PF4 replenishment restores central proteostasis by driving OPTN‐dependent, PINK1‐independent selective autophagy in motor neurons. This intervention effectively clears toxic SOD1 aggregates, blunts glial activation, and preserves neuromuscular ...

Green and Scalable Synthesis of Efficient and Stable CsPbBr3 Perovskite Quantum Dots Enables Low‐Threshold Amplified Spontaneous Emission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Green and scalable synthesis of CsPbBr3 perovskite quantum dots using bio‐sourced lecithin and hexane enables single‐batch production over 10 grams. Suppressed Auger recombination and electron‐phonon coupling yields 95% PLQY, enhanced stability, and low ASE thresholds of 230.4 (ns) and 50.1 (fs) µJ cm−2 in neat films. ABSTRACT Halide perovskite quantum

Artificial Intelligence‐Driven Inverse Design of Singlet Fission Candidates in the Acene family

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, we describe an AI‐driven inverse design platform predicting S1 and T1 energies across acenes with high accuracy. Using Hammett σ constants as descriptors and RNN models coupled with optimization algorithms, it efficiently explores ≈1014 structures, uncovering novel SF candidates from benzene to pentacene.
