Inelastic Scattering of Formaldehyde on Au(111) surface
Inelastic scattering between gas molecules and surfaces is a fundamental process that has been investigated extensively. During this process, the energy exchange between the gas and the surface changes the internal and translational degrees of freedom of

Removing Oxide Layers and Retaining Oxide‐Free Steel Surfaces by Polishing in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
In this study, the efficacy of wet mechanical polishing under an oxygen‐free atmosphere for deoxidation and the retention of an oxide‐free steel surface are elucidated using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The methodology proved successful; however, the results were highly dependent on the preparation of the solvents used to clean the samples after ...

The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

Mapping isoprene emissions over North America using formaldehyde column observations from space
We present a methodology for deriving emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) using space-based column observations of formaldehyde (HCHO) and apply it to data from the Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment (GOME) satellite instrument over North ...

Volatile aldehydes in libraries and archives [PDF]
Volatile aldehydes are produced during degradation of paper-based materials. This may result in their accumulation in archival and library repositories. However, no systematic study has been performed so far.

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Development of a formaldehyde analysis method for use with portable spectrometers [PDF]
Formaldehyde testing in poor communities can be limited by the capital costs of laboratory grade instruments. Not having access to these instruments could result in the water supply not being tested, which can lead to health issues. The development of a ...
