Formate dehydrogenase [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 1990
Formate is a substrate, or product, of diverse reactions catalyzed by eukaryotic organisms, eubacteria, and archaebacteria. A survey of metabolic groups reveals that formate is a common growth substrate, especially among the anaerobic eubacteria and archaebacteria.

The elusive abnormal CO2 insertion enabled by metal-ligand cooperative photochemical selectivity inversion

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
The development of molecular catalysts for the reverse water–gas shift reaction is impeded by the general selectivity of CO2 insertion into M–H bonds to formates.

A new way to make oxalic acid from CO2 and alkali formates: Using the active carbonite intermediate

open access: yesSustainable Chemistry for Climate Action, 2022
Conversion of CO2 to valuable chemicals such as polymers via the electrochemical reduction of CO2 to formate followed by the formate to oxalate coupling reaction (FOCR) is an interesting concept to replace fossil feedstocks with renewable ones.

Infrared study of the selective oxidation of toluene and o-xylene on vanadium oxide/TiO2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
Infrared spectroscopy was used to obtain information on the mechanism of the selective oxidation of toluene and o-xylene over vanadium oxide catalysts. The interaction of these aromatic hydrocarbons and the products benzaldehyde and o-tolualdehyde with ...

Galaxy formation [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1987
Theories of galaxy formation via hierarchical clustering of cold dark matter and by fragmentation of gaseous pancakes or shells are reviewed and compared. Dissipative processes are crucial to all theories of galaxy formation, and are discussed in terms of a simple model involving multiple cloud interactions.

Thermocatalytic Decomposition of Dimethyl Methylphosphonate Based on CeO2 Catalysts with Different Morphologies

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The catalytic performances of the catalysts and decomposition mechanisms of dimethyl methylphosphonate (DMMP), a commonly used nerve agent simulant, are well understood based on previous studies.

ANTIBODY FORMATION [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Experimental Medicine, 1963
Injection of a sufficient dose of bacteriophage ϕX 174 into guinea pigs results in the formation of rapidly sedimenting antibody molecules (19S), and later, slowly sedimenting molecules (7S). Above a threshold dose of antigen, the relative rate of 19S formation is maximal and dose-independent; below this dose, slower relative rates are obtained.

Evidence of Volatility Metals and Metalloids at Environment Conditions

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Tailings represent a significant risk to the environment globally, but very little is known about the composition of the near-surface air. We conducted laboratory experiments to determine the sizes of the particles and the chemical composition of the ...

Experimental and theoretical investigation on conformational and spectroscopic properties of dimethyl dithiodiglycolate, [CH3OC(O)CH2S]2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Dimethyl dithiodiglycolate (DTG), [CH3OC(O)CH2S]2, was synthetized by complete oxidation of methyl thioglycolate (MTG) with I2, and characterized by gas chromatography coupled with electron-impact mass spectrometry.
