Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Mixed‐class J‐domain protein scaffolds promote expanded aggregate handling and multivalent Hsp70 engagement during functional disaggregase assembly

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein aggregates threaten proteostasis and cell health. In human cells, Hsp70–J‐domain protein‐based disaggregases remove aggregates, but how they assemble remains unclear. Our biochemical findings show that DNAJA2‐ and DNAJB1‐containing disaggregase scaffolds enhance luciferase aggregate targeting, and that Hsp70 recruitment by both J‐domain ...

Experimental Study on the Impact of Phase-Change Self-Propping Fracturing Fluid on Reservoir Invasion Damage

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Hydraulic fracturing is crucial for the effective development of unconventional oil and gas reservoirs. This paper systematically reviews the damage issues caused by conventional fracturing fluids in tight unconventional reservoirs, highlighting problems

The multiple roles of A-type lamins in cellular aging, cell cycle progression and the DNA damage response. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A-type lamins are a group of type V intermediate filaments whose main members are lamin A and C. Lamins A/C are components of the nuclear lamina and are encoded by the LMNA gene.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Oxidative stimulation on CBM reservoir recovery enhancement:methods for oxidative dissolution, permeability enhancement, and prospects

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
The low single-well production is a major challenge restricting the economic development of Coalbed Methane (CBM) reservoirs in China. To address this, considering the characteristics of organic matter in coal and pyrite are easy to be oxidative ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

The Role of Forensic Petrophysics in Formation Damage Evaluation

open access: yes, 2011
Petrophysical analysis plays a strategic role in the evaluation of well productivity and, ultimately, hydrocarbons in place, but its importance in formation damage assessment and evaluation has often been overlooked or inappropriately applied.
