Spondias Tuberosa Seeds as Lignocellulosic Bioadsorbent for Efficient PB (II) Removal: Characterization, Adsorption Modeling, Selectivity, and Reusability

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 10, Issue 37, October 6, 2025.
The biosorption of Pb(II) ions using Spondias tuberosa seeds involves surface binding, ion exchange, and stabilization steps that enhance metal removal from aqueous solutions. This eco‐friendly and low‐cost adsorbent demonstrates significant potential for water treatment, providing an alternative to conventional methods and contributing to sustainable ...

The preference for energetic resources is positively associated with predatory activity in ants

open access: yesEcological Entomology, Volume 50, Issue 5, Page 921-932, October 2025.
We found that ants exhibit a stronger preference for foraging for carbohydrates and lipids (energetic nutrients) compared to amino acids. The increase in foraging for energetic nutrients compared to amino acids is positively correlated with foraging in larvae (insect predation). The nutrient preference between foraging for energetic nutrients and amino

Dynamics of resonances and equilibria of Low Earth Objects

open access: yes, 2017
The nearby space surrounding the Earth is densely populated by artificial satellites and instruments, whose orbits are distributed within the Low-Earth-Orbit region (LEO), ranging between 90 and 2 000 $km$ of altitude.

Analysis of Intraoperative and Postoperative Hinge Fractures of Patients With Genu Valgum Treated With Lateral Open Wedge Distal Femoral Osteotomy

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 9, Page 2629-2639, September 2025.
IHF and PHF are distinct complications of LOWDFO with different risk factors and clinical outcomes. Our research could reduce the risk of hinge fractures, shorten the healing time of LOWDFO, and make the treatment of genu valgum by LOWDFO more standardized and reasonable.

Ants on flowers: Protective ants impose a low but variable cost to pollination, moderated by location of extrafloral nectaries and type of flower visitor

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 113, Issue 8, Page 2187-2198, August 2025.
Individuals who engage in multiple mutualisms often have to pay indirect costs because of the interference of one mutualism on another. We found that protective ants had a low but variable impact on pollination, especially on the flower visitation by bees and when EFNs are close to inflorescences.
