Aluminium sheet forming at elevated temperatures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The formability of aluminum sheet depends on the temperature of the material and the strain\ud rate. E.g. the limiting drawing ratio can be improved by increasing the temperature uniformly, but even more by\ud heating the flange and cooling the punch. To

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Numerical and physical modelling in forming [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
An overview will be presented of recent developments concerning the application\ud and development of computer codes for numerical simulation of forming processes. Special\ud attention will be paid to the mathematical modeling of the material deformation

Evolving structures of star-forming clusters

open access: yes, 2005
Understanding the formation and evolution of young star clusters requires quantitative statistical measures of their structure. We investigate the structures of observed and modelled star-forming clusters.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Decision of pedagogical tasks as mean of forming of pedagogical position of students of higher education physical establishments [PDF]

open access: yesPedagogìka, Psihologìâ ta Mediko-bìologìčnì Problemi Fìzičnogo Vihovannâ ì Sportu, 2012
In the article one of terms of forming of pedagogical position for the students of higher education physical establishments - decision of educational-pedagogical situations (EPS) is examined. Monitoring of progress from pedagogical disciplines confronted

Review on the influence of process parameters in incremental sheet forming

open access: yes, 2016
Incremental sheet forming (ISF) is a relatively new flexible forming process. ISF has excellent adaptability to conventional milling machines and requires minimum use of complex tooling, dies and forming press, which makes the process cost-effective and ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

A ROBUST OPTIMISATION-EFFICIENCY-DECISION SCHEME FOR ELECTROHYDRAULIC FORMING USING HYBRID TAGUCHI-DATA ENVELOPMENT ANALYSIS-PARETO METHOD FOR ALUMINIUM ALLOY 1100 SHEETS IN AUTOMOTIVE PANELS

open access: yesMağallaẗ Al-kūfaẗ Al-handasiyyaẗ
This paper proposes a hybrid T-DEA-P (Taguchi-Data Envelopment Analysis-Pareto) method to optimise and rank parameters of the electrohydraulic forming process using the aluminium (AA1100) sheets for automotive panel application.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
