Forming Limits of Thermoplastic Composites
Key Engineering Materials, 2014Defects and shape distortions can arise during thermoforming of thermoplastic composites. Design guidelines for thermoplastic composites can help to prevent such defects. The material selection and geometry definition are part of the design guidelines.

Limited Form of Wegener's Granulomatosis
Chest, 1976A 40-year-old man had a pathologically proved limited form of Wegener's granulomatosis complicating recurrent and massive hemoptysis from his cavitary pulmonary lesion. Of significant interest and clinical importance is the unusual location of the patient's pulmonary lesion, occurring in the posterior segment of the right upper lobe.

Stress-Based Forming Limits in Sheet Metal Forming
Manufacturing Engineering, 2000Abstract A strain-based forming limit criterion is widely used throughout the sheet metal forming industry to gauge the stability of the deformed material with respect to the development of a localized neck prior to fracture. This criterion is strictly valid only when the strain path is linear throughout the deformation process. There is

Characterizing fracture forming limit and shear fracture forming limit for sheet metals
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2018Abstract This article investigates, experimentally, the failure loci in transition region between failure by crack-opening by mode I and by mode II of fracture mechanics. This investigation determines the fracture forming limit (FFL) and the shear fracture forming limit (SFFL) for copper with 0.8 mm and brass with 1 mm of thickness, by means of ...

Forming Limit Curves and Forming Limit Stress Curves for Advanced High Strength Steels
Materials Science Forum, 2013Experimental and numerical investigations using Forming Limit Curve (FLC) and Forming Limit Stress Curve (FLSC) were carried out for two Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) grades DP780 and TRIP780. The forming limit curves were experimentally determined by means of Nakazima stretching test.

In this chapter we initially explain why the limited company is such a popular organisation and the steps that have to be taken to convert a business into a company. There then follows an examination of how to attract the financial support of a larger section of the community and finally we consider the different forms in which this support could be ...

Analysis of forming limits in metal forming processes
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2008Forming limit plays a very important role in metal forming processes since it can be used to predict whether a blank will fracture or not. This paper examines the influence on forming limit of blank and fractured thickness. The fractured thickness of a specimen in the simple tension test is adopted as the fracture criterion of the forming limit, and is

Non-Traditional Forming Limit Diagrams for Incremental Forming
Advanced Materials Research, 2005Although not standard, Forming Limit Diagrams, FLD’s, are used throughout the automotive industry as a preliminary tool to determine if a sheet metal forming process is capable of forming a good part. FLD’s show a limited range of strains on the diagram; typically the range is 0 to 1 on the major strain axis.
