Design of Forming Processes: Sheet Metal Forming
2004This article addresses sheet metal deformations processes and are classified as secondary processing methodologies. Sheet metal forming processes are further classified as processes with: compressive stresses, tensile stresses, compressive and tensile stresses, bending, and shear.

Implicit among the features by which soils are recognized and classified are processes that formed them. Such processes are more readily observed in modern soils than in paleosols in which they ceased to act long ago. Nevertheless, processes often can be inferred from features of paleosols or from suites of paleosols.

Axisymmetric Forming Processes
1997Abstract As discussed in chapter 5, interface conditions at the tool-workpiece interfaces play crucial roles in various forming operations. Axisymmetric upsetting and ring compression tests provide useful means for analytically investigating the interfacial friction conditions and validating them against experimental observations.

A casting is obtained when molten metal is poured into a mould and there cools continuously until solid. Some castings can be used as soon as removed from the mould, but most require a certain amount of dressing (fettling). The quality of a casting is governed by not only the method of casting but also the properties of the metal melt, which can be ...
