The objective of this research was to quantify the fermentation capacity and nutritional quality of corn silage with the inclusion of nitrogen sources such as chicken manure and soybean forage (Glicine max (L.) Merr.). The treatments were: corn forage alone or control (FM); Corn with inclusion of 10% soybean forage (FS10); Corn with 20% soybean forage (

Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Heterostylous plants are defined by the reciprocal positioning of stigmas and anthers in floral morphs—a trait proposed by Darwin to enhance the efficiency of disassortative (intermorph) pollen transfer.

Distinct Intra‐ and Interspecific Foraging Patterns of Stingless Bee Species as a Conservation Tool
In this study, we examined the foraging patterns of three rescued stingless bee species in the Bolivian Yungas using melissopalynology and plant–pollinator network analysis. We found distinct floral foraging patterns both within and among three stingless bee species in the Bolivian Yungas, suggesting niche partitioning at multiple levels.

This study investigates pollen dispersal, vertical stratification of gene flow, and spatial genetic structure in the bat‐pollinated liana Marcgravia longifolia in a western Amazonian forest. Flowers are produced from the forest floor to the canopy, allowing analysis of pollination across strata.

Immersion patterns alone can predict vessel following by albatrosses
We demonstrate that seabird immersion patterns alone can detect high‐risk seabird‐vessel interactions, even in the absence of locational data for both seabirds and vessels. Our approach could allow for more comprehensive seabird bycatch risk assessments that quantify previously hidden seabird‐vessel interactions, such as those involving migratory life ...

Exploration Behavior Is Consistent and Associated With Foraging Behavior in Island Songbirds
We tested the neophobia threshold hypothesis in six landbird species, including four Darwin's finches. Exploration behavior was consistent over time and contexts, with species exhibiting greater foraging diversity showing higher exploratory tendencies.

Wintering Together: Do Migrants Impact Residents? A Literature Review
This review examines the overlooked impacts of interspecific competition on resident tropical birds during the overwintering period, highlighting the need for a deeper understanding of their interactions with migratory species. By evaluating the literature through the lens of competition theory, we identify critical gaps in knowledge and suggest that ...
