Multivariate maternal effects across the internalizing–externalizing spectrum in childhood: results from the Norwegian mother, father, and child cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, Volume 67, Issue 7, Page 1040-1052, July 2026.
Background From a functionalist perspective, parenting behaviors have adaptive functions and are partly expressions of genetic variation. Maternal genes that have effects on children are often referred to as indirect maternal genetic effects. Indirect genetic effects provide a means for measuring the role of parenting without the need for specifying ...

Unsupervised Flow Cytometry Reveals a Constant Shift Towards Activated CD4+ T Cell Subsets in APECED

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Immunology, Volume 104, Issue 1, July 2026.
APECED is caused by mutations of AIRE that impair negative selection in the human thymus. Using our optimized unsupervised workflow, we reveal that APECED patients show increased activation of T cells and alterations to their Treg pool as well as a novel T cell population not found among healthy controls.

Pain Sensitivity, Psychological Factors, and Muscle Function in Male Athletes With Long‐Standing Groin Pain and Matched Controls

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Medicine &Science in Sports, Volume 36, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Long‐standing groin pain in athletes is often managed as a localized musculoskeletal tissue injury. Treatment‐resistant symptoms and disability after return to sport suggest that other factors may also contribute. This study compared pain sensitivity, psychological factors, and muscle function between male athletes with long‐standing groin ...

Electroreductive Desulfurization of Thioacetals

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 12, 17 June 2026.
A metal‐free electrochemical protocol enabled desulfurization of thioacetals under ambient conditions. Aryl substituents on sulfur act as internal electroauxiliaries to promote C(sp3)─S bond cleavage via a radical pathway, effectively serving as alternative to the Mozingo reduction.

A Low‐Power Cryogenic Low‐Noise Amplifier for the Next‐Generation Quantum Computers

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 223, Issue 11, 10 June 2026.
Next generation of quantum computers calls for reduced dc power dissipation of the cryogenic low‐noise amplifier (LNA) applied in reading out the superconducting qubits. This article reports on processing and evaluation of a 100‐nm gate length indium phosphide high electron mobility transistor (InP HEMT) technology used in the design of such LNAs.
