Immunization‐related complex regional pain syndrome: A systematic review of case reports

open access: yesPCN Reports
Aim Vaccines have been shown to have the highest efficacy in preventing infectious diseases through their ability to induce immunological memory against pathogens.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

How to handle high subgenome sequence similarity in allopolyploid Fragaria x ananassa: linkage disequilibrium based variant filtering

open access: yesBMC Genomics
Background The allo-octoploid Fragaria x ananassa follows disomic inheritance, yet the high sequence similarity among its subgenomes can lead to misalignment of short sequencing reads (150 bp).

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Cardiopulmonary bypass versus non-bypass surgery for tumor thrombus extending into the inferior vena cava or right atrium in non-cardiac malignancies: a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgical Oncology
Background The role of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) in surgery for tumor thrombi extending into the inferior vena cava (IVC) or right atrium in noncardiac malignancies remains controversial.

Improving the accuracy of geological models and seismic sedimentology using sedimentary forward modeling

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Reservoir description based on geostatistics requires cross well constraints (such as high-quality seismic data) to predict the quality of cross well reservoirs that conform to geological laws.

A New Hard Switching Bidirectional Converter With High Power Density [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent Procedures in Electrical Technology, 2010
In this paper, a new isolated dc-dc bidirectional converter is proposed. This converter consists of two transformers (flyback and forward) and only one switch in primary side and one switch in secondary side of transformers.

Foreword

open access: yesInternet Archaeology, 2007
There is rather a special flavour to research into the Mesolithic period. Immersing ourselves in the study of dynamic, mobile communities facing ever changing environments, with interpretations resting on sparse, rather unimpressive evidence brings a ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
