A new forward ZCS-ZVS converter

1996 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Circuits and Systems Connecting the World. ISCAS 96, 2002
This paper presents a steady-state analysis with complete characterization of the converter operation. The non-dissipative snubber associated with a forward converter provides the soft commutation switching. The proposed approach allows building a converter with high frequency operation. A detailed analysis of the operation is presented.

A dual mode forward/flyback converter

1982 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists conference, 1982
This paper presents a single transistor dc-dc converter that combines both forward and flyback action. The resulting circuit is ohmically isolated and can operate over a wide range of input-to-output voltage ratios. An analysis of the circuit indicates that the forward and flyback portions of the circuit interact to produce three distinct regions of ...

EMI examination of symmetric forward converter

4th Annual International Power Electronics, Drive Systems and Technologies Conference, 2013
Power switching converters are sources of electromagnetic interference (EMI) due to the high voltage and current transients. In this paper, the single-switch forward converter topology is modified to achieve symmetric topology. EMI models of regular and symmetric forward converters are extracted taking into account the main parasitic of components and ...

A self-resonant PWM forward converter

Proceedings of IECON'94 - 20th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2002
This paper presents a new forward power converter which operates without commutation losses. This approach is based on the principle of self-resonance, i.e. an auxiliary voltage source output feeds the resonant circuit charging a capacitor which provides the condition for the zero voltage switching (ZVS) of the main switch.

A ZCS-PWM interleaved forward converter

2013 1st International Future Energy Electronics Conference (IFEEC), 2013
This paper proposed a zero-current- switching pulsewidth-modulation (ZCS-PWM) interleaved forward dc/dc converter. The proposed ZCS-PWM interleaved forward converter combines the conventional pulse-width-modulation technique and soft commutation technique.

An improved two-transistor forward converter

Proceedings of the IEEE 1999 International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems. PEDS'99 (Cat. No.99TH8475), 1999
An improved two-transistor forward converter, an active damp two-transistor forward converter, has been proposed in this paper. It is developed by paralleling an active damp circuit at the primary side of the transformer of the two-transistor forward converter to damp the voltage across power switches, to demagnetize the transformer and to achieve zero-

Coupled magnetic amplifiers in forward converter topologies

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1999
A voltage and current analysis of magnetic amplifiers in switch mode power supply applications is presented, and results are compared with those predicted by the analysis. The application of coupled magnetic amplifiers to power supplies with coupled inductors in their auxiliary outputs is given.

Study on chaotic soft switching forward converter

2017 IEEE 2nd Advanced Information Technology, Electronic and Automation Control Conference (IAEAC), 2017
Based on the advantages of the chaotic spread-spectrum technique and the soft switching technique, this paper proposes an effective technique to improve the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of the converter. Firstly this paper designs a chaotic soft switching converter.

Analysis of an Active Clamp Forward Converter

2005 International Conference on Power Electronics and Drives Systems, 2006
This paper studies the detailed circuit operation, mathematical analysis and design example of the active clamp forward converter with synchronous rectifier. There is one auxiliary switch and one clamp capacitor used in the forward converter to recycle the energy stored in the transformer leakage in order to minimize the spike voltage at the ...

Simulation of PWM Forward Converter

1997
By this time, it is fair to say that any scientific topic, be it technical or social, can be simulated, or modeled, with a computer; provided the necessary mathematical equations are available and absolute accuracy is not unreasonably expected.
