Regenerative‐passive snubber two‐switch forward converter [PDF]

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2018
A regenerative‐passive snubber (RPS) for pulse‐width modulation (PWM) two‐switch forward converter (TSFC) is presented. The RPS circuit is recycled the magnetic energy stored in the transformer leakage inductor and is achieved zero voltage switching turn off of power switches.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Single-Stage Grid-Connected Forward Microinverter with Boundary Mode Control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper presents a microinverter to be integrated into a solar module. The proposed solution combines a forward converter and a constant off-time boundary mode control, providing MPPT capability and unity power factor in a single-stage converter.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

High performance single stage power factor correction circuit

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2022
Here, a new single stage single switch soft switching PFC (power factor correction) converter is presented and analysed. The proposed converter combines buck AC‐DC converter and forward DC‐DC converter and applies an auxiliary circuit to eliminate input ...

Simulations of slow positron production using a low energy electron accelerator

open access: yes, 2011
Monte Carlo simulations of slow positron production via energetic electron interaction with a solid target have been performed. The aim of the simulations was to determine the expected slow positron beam intensity from a low energy, high current electron

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Supermodes of grating-coupled multimode waveguides and application to mode conversion between copropagating modes mediated by backward Bragg scattering [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
An analysis of multimode waveguides where several modes are coupled via quasiperiodic perturbations is presented. The supermodes (or eigenmodes) of the structure are derived and orthonormality considerations are discussed. In addition, a new type of mode

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
