Forward Error Correction

2012 Fourth International Conference on Computational and Information Sciences, 2012
In modern telecommunication systems, FEC has been widely used. The emergence and development of this technology is the need of the telecommunication system itself. In the engineering practice, the ideal digital channel does not exist, which results from distortion and non-isochronous delay.

Forward Error Correction

2020
Radio-over-fiber (RoF) technology can combine the high-speed, high-capacity, high-bandwidth, and low-cost performance of fiber with the mobility of wireless communications. In the RoF system, the transmitted millimeter-wave signal is not only damaged by chromatic dispersion, polarization mode dispersion, and fiber nonlinear effects in the fiber link ...

Forward Error Correction

2007
Coding theory is the study of error-correcting codes, which are used to transmit digital information in the presence of noise. Their application ranges from deep-space communications to the recovery from packet loss on the Internet. Part of the mathematical backgound, e.

Multimedia forward error correcting codes for wirelessLAN

Annales Des Télécommunications, 2003
In this paper the forward error correction (FEC) codes useful for multimedia wireless transmissions are discussed. The class of usable codes are produced by multiple description (packet equivalence during transmission) after an initial hierarchical representation (joint source channel coding) stage.
