Forward-Secure Certificate-Based Encryption

2009 Fifth International Conference on Information Assurance and Security, 2009
Certificate-based encryption (CBE) is a new paradigm which overcomes the shortcomings of traditional public-key encryption (PKE) and identity based encryption (IBE). CBE provides an efficient implicit certificate mechanism to eliminate third-party queries for the certificate status and to simplify the certificate revocation problem in traditional PKI ...

Forward Secure Delay-Tolerant Networking

Proceedings of the 12th Workshop on Challenged Networks, 2017
Delay-Tolerant Networks exhibit highly asynchronous connections often routed over many mobile hops before reaching its intended destination. The Bundle Security Protocol has been standardized providing properties such as authenticity, integrity, and confidentiality of bundles using traditional Public-Key Cryptography.

Forward-Security Under Continual Leakage

2018
Current signature and encryption schemes secure against continual leakage fail completely if the key in any time period is fully exposed. We suggest forward security as a second line of defense, so that in the event of full exposure of the current secret key, at least uses of keys prior to this remain secure, a big benefit in practice.

Forward secure searchable symmetric encryption

2017 12th International Conference for Internet Technology and Secured Transactions (ICITST), 2017
Data outsourcing to third party clouds poses numerous data security threats. Access by unauthorized users is one of the security threat to the outsourced data. Unauthorized access can be avoided by encrypting the data before outsourcing. However, encrypting data before outsourcing renders it unsearchable to the data owner. Searchable encryption schemes

Economics of Cyber Security and the Way Forward

International Journal of Cyber Warfare and Terrorism, 2016
Initiatives carried by companies, institutes and governments to flourish and embellish the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) among the public have led to its penetration into every walk of life. ICT enhances the efficiency of various systems, such as the organisation and transfer of data.

IoT Security Challenges and Ways Forward

Proceedings of the 6th International Workshop on Trustworthy Embedded Devices, 2016
Today 2.9 billion people, or 40% of the world's population are online. By 2020, at least 40 billion more devices will become smart via embedded processors. The impact of such Internet of Things (IoT) on our society will be extraordinary. It will influence most consumer and business sectors, impact education, healthcare and safety. However, it certainly

Optimistic fair exchange for secure forwarding

2007 Fourth Annual International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Networking & Services (MobiQuitous), 2007
Several cooperation enforcement schemes based on rewarding mechanisms such as electronic cash or online credits have lately been proposed to prevent selfish behavior in ad-hoc networks. However, these schemes suffer from the lack of fairness guarantees or the reliance on costly mechanisms such as tamper- proof hardware or the requirement for trusted ...

A Forward Secure Ring Signature Scheme

2008 International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing, 2008
Exposure of secret keys is fatal to the security of a signature scheme. Digital signature with forward security is proposed in order to reduce the loss arisen by the exposure of secret keys, in which even the attacker obtains the current secret key of some user illegally, he still can not forge the signature of the past time period.

On the Security of a Group Signature Scheme with Forward Security

2004
A group signature scheme allows a group member of a given group to sign messages on behalf of the group in an anonymous and unlinkable way. In case of a dispute, however, a designated group manager can reveal the signer of a valid group signature. Based on Song’s forward-secure group signature schemes, Zhang, Wu, and Wang proposed a new group signature

On the Security of the Non-Repudiation of Forwarding Service

2012
Nowadays, digital data can be protected by several security services. For example, confidentiality can be provided using encryption mechanisms and authentication can be realized by digital signatures. However, it is usually assumed that only unauthorized users want to manipulate data or attack the system.
