ABSTRACT Background The modified endoscopic Denker's (MED) approach provides access to all maxillary sinus (MS) walls for resection of various MS and retromaxillary pathologies, but the anteromedial maxilla has historically been resected. This study determined complication rates and outcomes following MED with pyriform aperture (PA) preservation ...

The role of computed tomography in intra-axial posterior fossa tumors
Background: CT (computed tomography) is one of the first noninvasive imaging techniques in diagnosis of intra-axial posterior fossa tumors because it can accurately demonstrate, localize and characterize brain tumors, and can provide important ...

Natural Aging of Biomaterials in Ambient and Physiological Environments
Biomaterials used in biomedical applications can change their physical properties over time, even under ambient and physiological conditions. This review highlights key studies on the natural aging of materials ranging from soft hydrogels to metals and ceramics, emphasizing how time‐dependent changes influence function and performance.

Glioblastoma Located in Posterior Fossa
A 63-year-old woman operated eight months ago for glioblastoma (GB) located in posterior fossa was admitted to emergency room for stuporous, nausea, vo-miting and headache. CT and MR showed recurrence of posterior fossa cystic-necrotic tumour without any other intracranial contrast enhancing lesion. Tumour was removed near totally.

Mechanistic insights from additive‐assisted plastic degradation guide the design of environmentally adaptive textile fibers. Functional additives enhance oxidative, hydrolytic, enzymatic, and microbial degradation pathways. Translating these strategies requires control of fiber architecture, additive distribution, and environmental interactions ...

Abstract Invasive gray squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) have replaced the native red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) across much of Great Britain over the last century. Several factors have been proposed to underlie this replacement, but here we investigated the potential for dietary competition in which gray squirrels have better feeding performance than ...

Abstract Dental microwear texture analysis (DMTA) is widely applied for inferring diet in vertebrates. Besides diet and ingesta properties, factors like wear stage and bite force may affect microwear formation, potentially leading to tooth position‐specific microwear patterns.

Quantitative assessment of masticatory muscles based on skull muscle attachment areas in Carnivora
Abstract Masticatory muscles are composed of the temporalis, masseter, and pterygoid muscles in mammals. Each muscle has a different origin on the skull and insertion on the mandible; thus, all masticatory muscles contract in different directions. Collecting in vivo data and directly measuring the masticatory muscles anatomically in various Carnivora ...
