Enhanced Lattice Polarization and Directed Charge Transport Toward Pt Surface Sites Accelerate the Volmer Step in Piezocatalytic H2 Evolution on Co‐Doped BiFeO3

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
We report a Pt‐decorated Co‐doped BiFeO3 (Pt/BCFO) piezocatalyst achieving an H2 evolution rate of 1896.4 µmol g−1 h−1. Co‐doping induces lattice distortion, enhancing piezoelectric polarization, while Pt sites promote water dissociation. Embedded in a poly(vinylidene fluoride) matrix, Pt/BCFO enables efficient mechanical energy harvesting and catalyst

Engineering Trace‐Amount Electrolyte Additives for Aqueous Zinc Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Large‐amount additives primarily modify the bulk electrolyte by coordinating with Zn2+ or reshaping the hydrogen‐bond network, thereby altering the overall solution chemistry. In contrast, trace‐amount additives mainly operate at the electrode–electrolyte interface, regulating Zn deposition through electric double‐layer modulation, interfacial ...

Photocatalytic activity of molybdenum-doped LOS- zeolite for efficient dye degradation and hydrogen production

open access: yesResults in Engineering
This research investigates the synthesis and application of Losod-zeolite (LOS-Z), a crystalline hydrated sodium aluminosilicate (Na12Al12Si12O48.xH2O) as a potential photocatalyst for dye degradation and H2 production from dye-degraded water.

Climate Risk and the Fossil Fuel Industry: Two Feet High and Rising [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
As climate change effects grow more pronounced, there can be little doubt that an industry that produces 68 percent of human greenhouse gas emissions will find itself under increasing pressure. The risks to the industry correlate with progress on climate

Dual Impact of Long‐Lived Localized Carriers Induced by Restricted Hole Transfer in Organic Photovoltaics and Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work clarifies why organic semiconductors perform differently in photovoltaic devices and photocatalytic nanoparticles. By examining D18:Y5 and PM6:Y6 systems, we show how aggregation, exciton lifetime, and interfacial charge transfer behavior govern energy‐conversion pathways.

Forecast of petroleum reservoir rock distribution in the Lower Cretaceous abyssal strata (western part of Yenisey-Khatanga regional depression) [PDF]

open access: yesНефтегазовая геология: Теория и практика
A new seismostratigraphic model of Gydan and Taimyr peninsulas junction zone was created. The model is based on a regional project model, archival and new geological and geophysical data: seismic information, well-logging and biostratigraphic survey ...

Where are Fossil Fuels Displaced by Alternatives?

open access: yesJournal of World-Systems Research
In light of ongoing and accelerating climate change driven by human combustion of fossil fuels, researchers have found evidence that national-level inequality influences whether nations are able to replace fossil fuels with alternative energies.
