Advancing Energy Materials by In Situ Atomic Scale Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
Progress in in situ atomic scale methods leads to an improved understanding of new and advanced energy materials, where a local understanding of complex, inhomogeneous systems or interfaces down to the atomic scale and quantum level is required. Topics from photovoltaics, dissipation losses, phase transitions, and chemical energy conversion are ...

PLESIOSAURS (DIAPSIDA, SAUROPTERYGIA) FROM LATE CRETACEOUS (LATE CAMPANIAN–EARLY MAASTRICHTIAN) MARGINAL MARINE ENVIRONMENTS FROM NORTH PATAGONIA

open access: yesPublicación Electrónica de la Asociación Paleontológica Argentina, 2015
During the late Campanian and early Maastrichtian, Northern Patagonia suffered the first stage of the Atlantic marine ingression that reached the Neuquén Basin. The Allen and La Colonia formations show the early stages of this change, and were deposited

Breaking the Durability–Power Trade‐Off: Boron‐Directed Faceted O3 Cathodes for High‐Rate Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Boron‐oxide‐assisted particle engineering stabilizes O3‐type layered cathodes for sodium‐ion batteries by mitigating phase transitions and lattice strain. Acting as flux and structural modifier, boron forms submicron hexagonal platelets with (003) facets and expanded Na‐layer spacing, enabling rapid Na⁺ diffusion and mechanical resilience.

Dual Impact of Long‐Lived Localized Carriers Induced by Restricted Hole Transfer in Organic Photovoltaics and Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work clarifies why organic semiconductors perform differently in photovoltaic devices and photocatalytic nanoparticles. By examining D18:Y5 and PM6:Y6 systems, we show how aggregation, exciton lifetime, and interfacial charge transfer behavior govern energy‐conversion pathways.
