PtRu Clusters Enable Efficient Proton Transfer and Rapid Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 4, July 2026.
PtRu clusters on hollow mesoporous carbon spheres exhibit superior HER activity via strong electronic coupling. Ru sites enrich hydronium ions, creating a microenvironment for rapid H* directional transfer. Ru acts as the dominant center with near‐neutral binding energy, while Pt modulates the electronic structure for optimal kinetics.

A Transparent Long‐Term Cooling Green Plant‐Like Window for Net‐Zero Energy Buildings

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 4, July 2026.
In this work, we report a bioinspired transparent green plant‐like window that integrates passive cooling, thermal insulation, and solar‐driven waste heat recovery to reduce building energy consumption. Outdoor field tests and 168‐h solar simulator exposure confirm long‐term thermal stability and cooling up to 21.9°C, and then simulations across 30 ...

Towards Carbon Neutrality: Advances and Challenges in Architecting Carbon Nanofibers‐Based Photocatalysts

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 4, July 2026.
CNF‐based photocatalysts bridge materials innovation and carbon neutrality by integrating charge regulation, photo‐thermal‐electric synergy effects, and active site engineering. This review outlines synthesis‐structure‐performance relationships to key solar‐driven applications in H2 evolution, CO2 reduction, and environmental remediation, while ...

Enhanced Hydrogen Evolution on Ru‐Modified Cu1.8Se/Cu2Se Catalysts in Alkaline Media

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Chemistry, Volume 66, Issue 4, July 2026.
We synthesized Ru‐modified Cu1.8Se/Cu2Se electrocatalysts using solvothermal–annealing for alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction. A minimal 2.1 wt% Ru catalyst exhibited a low overpotential of 169 mV at 10 mA cm−2 with excellent stability, approaching the performance of Pt/C.

Thermo‐Hydrodynamic Processes of Microparticles in Fractures: A CFD–DEM Approach

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, Volume 50, Issue 10, Page 4230-4246, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Controlling fracture permeability plays a critical role in subsurface energy applications, particularly in geothermal energy production and enhanced carbon sequestration, where regulating fluid flow is essential. The use of microcapsules has become a promising solution to enhance fracture permeability by providing a controlled sealing ...
