We evaluated adaptation to torpor and hibernation in the genus Dromiciops by comparing it with both torpid and non‐torpid marsupials, and investigated divergent selection signals between its two species. For the ancestral node, we identified positive selection in the genes PFKFB2, LAMP3, OTX1, and RAPSN, alongside an enrichment of pathways potentially ...

Using 3D geometric morphometrics on every precaudal vertebra from 12 elapid snakes, this study used segmented linear regression to test regionalisation. The results show a five‐region model is best supported, including short cervical and lumbar regions and a strong heart‐aligned boundary at approximately 20% of the pre‐caudal column.

Integrating Fossil Observations Into Phylogenetics Using the Fossilized Birth–Death Model
Annual Review of Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics, 2022Over the past decade, a new set of methods for estimating dated trees has emerged. Originally referred to as the fossilized birth–death (FBD) process, this single model has expanded to a family of models that allows researchers to coestimate evolutionary parameters (e.g., diversification, sampling) and patterns alongside divergence times for a variety
