Innovative foundation for alluvial deposits
International Journal of Geotechnical Engineering, 2008Abstract Terai region (Lowlands) of North India consists of alluvial deposits, which are, saturated throughout the year. Conventional shallow foundations are difficult to construct due to the flooding of the foundation pits. An innovative short rigid composite foundation with granular core is being proposed for the foundations in this region.

Metal Droplet Deposition: From Foundation to Engineering Manufacturing
Advanced Engineering Materials, 2022Metal droplet deposition is of fundamental importance in many industrial and manufacturing processes. An in‐depth understanding of the fundamental issues of metal droplet deposition is particularly crucial for developing droplet deposition‐based engineering manufacturing technologies. This review systematically introduces the evolution of metal droplet

Elastic Foundation Settlements on Sand Deposits
Journal of Geotechnical Engineering, 1987A method for computing the elastic settlement of a foundation on a sand deposit using the conventional elastic settlement, but adjusting the settlement influence factor as computed by Steinbrenner to a reduced influence depth is proposed. The reduced influence depth is based on observations of strain profiles and the Boussinesq stress profile.

Dedicating the town: urban foundation deposits in Roman Britain
World Archaeology, 2004The foundation and birth of a Roman town would have been an important occasion, as well as a political event, both for the local tribal leaders and the imperial government. A Foundation Deposit Tablet from Hierakonpolis
Journal of the American Research Center in Egypt, 1971It has been proposed, and quite reasonably I think, that the date of deposition of the famous "Main Deposit" at Hierakonpolis was much later than the Archaic Period originally suggested, and was possibly the Eighteenth Dynasty.1 While some of the objects in the deposit were produced during the Archaic Period, other pieces have been shown to belong to ...
