SmallTalk: a novel small‐sized fusion tag for peptide expression and purification

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The SmallTalk fusion tag allows for the efficient expression and purification of soluble recombinant proteins or peptides in Escherichia coli. Testing with SmallTalk‐GFP confirmed that the proteins were soluble and folded correctly, while SmallTalk‐Bin1b maintained its antimicrobial activity against various bacterial isolates. This streamlined workflow

Stereovision-based surface flaws detection experiment of foundations of Yiqiao Bridge

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
To evaluate surface flaws on the foundations of bridge structures, a stereovision-based surface flaws detection method is proposed to evaluate the geometry size of surface flaws.

Influence of relative stiffness on the behavior of piled raft foundations

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Technology, 2018
The behavior of piled foundations is influenced by several factors, especially those related to the geometry of the foundations, the number of piles, the height of the element that tops the piles and the type of soil in which the foundations are inserted.

Model experiments on hydraulic properties around multiple piers with reproduced 3D geometries

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
The effects of multiple piers with 3D geometries on water levels during floods, as well as riverbed fluctuations and local scour after floods were examined via hydraulic model experiments.

Engineering tandem VHHs to target different epitopes to enhance antibody‐dependent cell‐mediated cytotoxicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tandem VHH targeting distinct EGFR epitopes were engineered into a monovalent bispecific antibody (7D12‐EGA1‐Fc) with more potent ADCC without increasing affinity to EGFR. Structural modeling of 7D12‐EGA1‐Fc showed cross‐linking of separate EGFR domains to enhance CD16a engagement on NK cells.

Numerical investigation of the performance of bucket foundation installed in sand under vertical loading

open access: yesCogent Engineering
Bucket foundations are circular surface foundations with thin skirts around the circumference. They have been successfully installed using economical suction or vibratory methods. Large-diameter buckets, up to 22 m, have been successfully deployed.

Study of Hidden Geometry in the Painting of Herat School; With Emphasis on Illustration "Demonstrating the Speech of Ascetics to the Troops by Eskandar" [PDF]

open access: yesنگره, 2019
Usage of geometry in Iranian painting is as obvious as other traditional Iranian arts. Meanwhile, some analysts believe that Iranian painters, especially the Herat school painters, have used the knowledge of geometry in a secret way in their works; known

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

The Foundations of Stochastic Geometry

open access: yesThe Annals of Probability, 1976
We show how to build models of random collections of geometrical objects: lines, circles, line segments, etc. This basic problem in stochastic geometry is solved using the theory of point processes on abstract spaces.
