Mitochondrial Transplantation via Magnetically Responsive Artificial Cells Promotes Intracerebral Hemorrhage Recovery by Supporting Microglia Immunological Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
A type of magnetically responsive artificial cells (ACs) has been developed, demonstrating the loading of mitochondria and self‐enclosure processes to ensure the protection of mitochondrial transport via the bloodstream. The treatment with ACs effectively transplanted mitochondria around the lesion, thereby improving neurological recovery by supporting

CFD Simulation of In-Cylinder Flow on Different Piston Bowl Geometries in a DI Diesel Engine

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2016
The combustion process in the diesel engine should be controlled to avoid both excessive maximum cylinder pressure and an excessive rate of pressure rise, in terms of crank angle.

Multifunctional Fluidic Units for Emergent, Responsive Robotic Behaviors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional reconfigurable fluidic unit can be used as sensor, valve and actuator is presented. A unique configuration combines the features of the three components as a Responsive self‐oscillating actuator. The remarkable versatility of the fluidic unit is demonstrated by building different robots with the same fluidic units only by varying ...

Swirl in a Four-Stroke Cycle Engine Cylinder

open access: yesBulletin of JSME, 1978
Air swirl speeds were measured in a motoring and firing run of a direct injection diesel engine, and the results were compared with those in steady flow tests. Experimental results show that, during the combustion period, the swirl speed in the firing condition is almost the same as that in motoring.

Recent Advances in Collective Behaviors of Micro/Nanomotor Swarms

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review describes the driving forces behind collective motion, explores the self‐organization of micro/nano swarms across zero‐dimensional (0D), one‐dimensional (1D), two‐dimensional (2D), and three‐dimensional (3D) spaces, and highlights their potential in drug delivery, environmental monitoring, and smart devices.

Quantum Lubrication: Suppression of Friction in a First Principle Four Stroke Heat Engine

open access: yes, 2005
A quantum model of a heat engine resembling the Otto cycle is employed to explore strategies to suppress frictional losses. These losses are caused by the inability of the engine's working medium to follow adiabatically the change in the Hamiltonian ...
