Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Asymptotic series solution of variational stokes problems in planar domain with crack-like singularity

open access: yesApplied Mathematics in Science and Engineering, 2022
A class of nonlinear variational problems describing incompressible fluids and solids by stationary Stokes equations given in a planar domain with a crack (infinitely thin flat plate in fluids) is considered.

Fusion Bialgebras and Fourier Analysis

open access: yes, 2020
We introduce fusion bialgebras and their duals and systematically study their Fourier analysis. As an application, we discover new efficient analytic obstructions on the unitary categorification of fusion rings.

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

FREQUENCY ANALYSIS OF DELTA SCUTI VARIABLE STARS. I.

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2017
The Fourier analyses are performed for photoelectric observations of two δ Scuti stars V567 Oph and KU Cen. It is shown that V567 Oph is a multiperiodic star and KU Cen has one main period.

Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...

Clifford Fourier-Mellin transform with two real square roots of -1 in Cl(p,q), p+q=2

open access: yes, 2012
We describe a non-commutative generalization of the complex Fourier-Mellin transform to Clifford algebra valued signal functions over the domain $\R^{p,q}$ taking values in Cl(p,q), p+q=2.

Surface Tension Measurement of Ti‐6Al‐4V by Falling Droplet Method in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this article, the temperature‐dependent surface tension of free falling, oscillating Ti‐6Al‐4V droplets is investigated in both argon and monosilane doped, oxygen‐free atmosphere. Droplet temperature and oscillation are captured with one single high‐speed camera, and the surface tension is calculated with Rayleigh's formula.

Gyro-Sensor-Based Vibration Control for Dynamic Humanoid-Robot Walking on Inclined Surfaces

open access: yesSensors, 2020
An efficient motor-control system for stable walking of the lightweight humanoid robot KONDO KHR-3HV on inclined surfaces is investigated. The motor-control system is based on the angular velocity of the pitch motion of the robot, which is detected by a ...
