A Fourier Fitting Method for Floating Vehicle Trajectory Lines
With the advancement of spatial positioning technology, trajectory data have been growing rapidly. Trajectory data record the spatiotemporal information and behavioral characteristics of moving objects, and in-depth analysis can provide decision support ...

Correlation between Fourier series expansion and Hückel orbital theory
The Fourier series can be used to describe periodic phenomena such as the one-dimensional crystal wave function. By the trigonometric treatements in Hückel theory it is shown that Hückel theory is a special case of Fourier series theory.

Potassium–sulfur batteries are investigated using UV–vis spectroscopy to track the evolution of potassium polysulfide species at elevated temperature. The study reveals sulfur radical anions as key intermediates and shows how solvent composition and cell design influence polysulfide stability, redox behavior, and cycling performance, providing insights

Two nitrogen‐doped 2D conjugated metal‐organic frameworks (2D c‐MOFs, namely Cu‐Nx‐OHBA, x = 2 or 4) are synthesized, featuring precise nitrogen incorporation via rational ligand design. The Cu‐Nx‐OHBA 2D c‐MOFs are largely tailorable by varying skeletal nitrogen density, with respect to electrical conductivity, Li‐storage capacitance, and Li‐transport

Theory of multivariable Bessel functions and elliptic modular functions
The theory of multivariable Bessel functions is exploited to establish further links with the elliptic functions. The starting point of the present investigations is the Fourier expansion of the theta functions, which is used to derive an analogous ...

The influence of statistical properties of Fourier coefficients on random Gaussian surfaces
Many examples of natural systems can be described by random Gaussian surfaces. Much can be learned by analyzing the Fourier expansion of the surfaces, from which it is possible to determine the corresponding Hurst exponent and consequently establish the ...

A Hybrid Asymptotic Expansion Scheme: an Application to Long-term Currency Options ( Revised in April 2008, January 2009 and April 2010; forthcoming in "International Journal of Theoretical and Applied Finance". ) [PDF]
This paper develops a general approximation scheme, henceforth called a hybrid asymptotic expansion scheme for the valuation of multi-factor European path-independent derivatives.

Single‐crystal gold microplates are high‐performance nanomaterials with an impressive wafer‐based application space. Progress has, however, been tempered by an inability to exert synthetic control over microplate size, shape, and positioning. In this work, control over these parameters is demonstrated using a seed‐mediated synthesis that both confines ...

Fourier analysis of signal dependent noise images
An archetype signal dependent noise (SDN) model is a component used in analyzing images or signals acquired from different technologies. This model-component may share properties with stationary normal white noise (WN).

"Fourier Transform Method with an Asymptotic Expansion Approach: an Application to Currency Options" [PDF]
This paper develops a Fourier transform method with an asymptotic expansion approach for option pricing. The method is applied to European currency options with a libor market model of interest rates and jump-diffusion stochastic volatility models of ...
