Locations and management strategies for prioritizing King Rail conservation efforts in the Mississippi Alluvial Valley

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 7, Issue 2, April–June 2026.
The King Rail is a secretive marsh bird of conservation concern that has experienced population declines in the Mississippi Alluvial Valley. We identified locations where conservation efforts may be beneficial and suggest actions that could increase King Rail populations.

Caspase‐6 Controls Lipid and Energy Metabolism in Diet‐Induced Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 21, 13 April 2026.
This study reveals an unknown metabolic role of caspase‐6 beyond cell death. Caspase‐6 deficiency protects against HFD‐induced obesity by increasing energy expenditure, reducing inflammation, and improving glucose metabolism. Mechanistically, caspase‐6 cleaves PPARγ and SP1 to suppress ATGL expression.

Nanostructured Lipid Carriers Overcome the Low Immunogenicity of M2e Peptide via Surface Click Chemistry Conjugation, Improving the Anti‐M2e Antibody Response

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, Volume 6, Issue 4, April 2026.
1) Nanostructured lipid carriers efficiently vectorize low‐immunogenic M2e peptide. 2) M2e peptide conjugation via click chemistry preserves the peptide key epitopes. 3) Forty M2e peptides per nanoparticle are sufficient to induce robust immune responses.
