Understanding Decoherence of the Boron Vacancy Center in Hexagonal Boron Nitride

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
State‐of‐the‐art computations unravel the intricate decoherence dynamics of the boron vacancy center in hexagonal boron nitride across magnetic fields from 0 to 3 T. Five distinct regimes emerge, dominated by nuclear spin interactions, revealing optimal coherence times of 1–20 µs in the 180–350 mT range for isotopically pure samples.

ASYMPTOTIC BEHAVIOR OF NONOSCILLATORY SOLUTIONS OF FOURTH ORDER LINEAR DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

open access: yesSelecciones Matemáticas, 2016
This article deals with the asymptotic behavior of nonoscillatory solutions of fourth order linear differential equation where the coefficients are perturbations of linear constant coefficient equation. We define a change of variable and deduce that the

Qualitative properties of solutions of certain fourth order linear differential equations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1981
This work considers differential equations of the form (py″)′′+qy″+ry=0 where p,q and r are positive continuous functions defined on [0,∞). The main concentration is on the oscillatory and asymptotic behavior of the solutions.

The Realization of Multidirectional, Free‐Standing 3D Plasmonic Nanostructures via 3D Nanoprinting: A Case Study of Fractal Antennas

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Free‐standing plasmonic gold‐based fractal antennas are fabricated by 3D nanoprinting, employing focused electron beam induced deposition and an optimized purification method to remove carbon while conserving structural fidelity. Simulation and experiment show broadband plasmonic activity, including customizable polarizability, thereby paving the way ...

Existence of Solutions for Generalized Nonlinear Fourth-Order Differential Equations

open access: yesMathematics
In this article, we studied the existence of solutions for a more general form of nonlinear fourth-order differential equations by using a new generalization of the Arzelá–Ascoli theorem and Schauder fixed theorem under easier and general conditions ...

Peptide Sequencing With Single Acid Resolution Using a Sub‐Nanometer Diameter Pore

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
To sequence a single molecule of Aβ1−42–sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), the aggregate is forced through a sub‐nanopore 0.4 nm in diameter spanning a 4.0 nm thick membrane. The figure is a visual molecular dynamics (VMD) snapshot depicting the translocation of Aβ1−42–SDS through the pore; only the peptide, the SDS, the Na+ (yellow/green) and Cl− (cyan ...

Field Theory with Fourth-order Differential Equations

open access: yes, 2020
We introduce a new class of higgs type complex-valued scalar fields $U$ with Feynman propagator $\sim 1/p^4$ and consider the matching to the traditional fields with propagator $\sim 1/p^2$ in the viewpoint of effective potentials at tree level. With some particular postulations on the convergence and the causality, there are a wealth of potential ...

Tailoring Microstructure in Copper‐Based Conductive Metal–Organic Frameworks for Enhanced Chemiresistive Sensing and Uptake of Sulfur Dioxide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Precursor‐ and solvent‐mediated synthesis yields four Cu3(HHTP)2 morphologies with distinct physicochemical, sorption, and sensing properties toward SO2. Uptake capacities correlate with BET surface area, while sensing performance scales with particle aspect ratio.

Quantifying Spin Defect Density in hBN via Raman and Photoluminescence Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐optical method is presented for quantifying the density of boron vacancy spin defects in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN). By correlating Raman and photoluminescence signals with irradiation fluence, defect‐induced Raman modes are identified and established an relationship linking optical signatures to absolute defect densities. This enables direct
