Deficiency of Capicua disrupts bile acid homeostasis [PDF]
Capicua (CIC) has been implicated in pathogenesis of spinocerebellar ataxia type 1 and cancer in mammals; however, the in vivo physiological functions of CIC remain largely unknown.

This research deciphers the m6A transcriptome by profiling its sites and functional readout effects: from mRNA stability, translation to alternative splicing, across five different cell types. Machine learning model identifies novel m6A‐binding proteins DDX6 and FXR2 and novel m6A reader proteins FUBP3 and L1TD1.

Haploinsufficiency of the FOXA2 associated with a complex clinical phenotype [PDF]
AbstractBackgroundThere are few reports describing the proximal deletions of the short arm of chromosome 20, making it difficult to predict the likely consequences of these deletions. Most previously reported cases have described the association of 20p11.2 deletions with Alagille syndrome, while there are others that include phenotypes such as ...

CD168 Identifies Proliferating Pancreatic Islet Cells in Murine and Human
This study identifies CD168 as a conserved surface marker for proliferating β‐cells in mouse, human islets, and pancreatic islet tumors. CD168⁺ cells show high proliferation and low insulin expression. CD168+ cells form mostly uni‐β lineage clones, and some of the clones are multi‐lineage.

Integrative analyses of transcriptome sequencing identify novel functional lncRNAs in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. [PDF]
Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have a critical role in cancer initiation and progression, and thus may mediate oncogenic or tumor suppressing effects, as well as be a new class of cancer therapeutic targets. We performed high-throughput sequencing of RNA

IL‐4/IL‐13/STAT6 signaling plays a crucial for the suppression of pro‐inflammation during acute pancreatitis and supports acinar cell regeneration but has only minor impact on fibrogenesis during chronic form of the disease. IL‐4/IL‐13 induce the expression of certain collagens directly in pancreatic fibroblasts via STAT6 activation, whereas ...

Fat mass and obesity associated gene (FTO) expression is regulated negatively by the transcription factor Foxa2. [PDF]
Fat mass and obesity associated gene (FTO) is the first gene associated with body mass index (BMI) and risk for diabetes. FTO is highly expressed in the brain and pancreas, and is involved in regulating dietary intake and energy expenditure.

Repression of glucocorticoid-stimulated angiopoietin-like 4 gene transcription by insulin. [PDF]
Angiopoietin-like 4 (Angptl4) is a glucocorticoid receptor (GR) primary target gene in hepatocytes and adipocytes. It encodes a secreted protein that inhibits extracellular LPL and promotes adipocyte lipolysis.
