From ecological principles to precision engineering of plant microbiomes for sustainable agriculture. The plant holobiont integrates diverse microbial niches (including rhizosphere, endosphere, phyllosphere, seed, and aerial‐root mucilagesphere), host genetics (namely M genes), and host metabolites. Furthermore, molecular dialogues, including rhizobial

Northern bobwhites select for native grasses on working grazing land
Northern bobwhites in eastern Kentucky selected for native warm‐season grasses at multiple spatial scales in an environment dominated by exotic cool‐season grass cattle forage. Our study suggests that incorporating native warm‐season grass cattle forages into existing operations across the southeastern United States may be a viable working‐lands ...

Isolation of foxtail millet proteins and their subunit structure.
Foxtail millet (Setaria italica) proteins were fractionated into five fractions, i. e., water-, salt-, ethanol-, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)- and 2-mercaptoethanol (ME)-soluble fractions, by successive extraction with various solvents from millet flour. The proportion in each fraction was 7.2, 5.6, 40, 25 and 20% respectively, of total flour nitrogen.

Past, present and future of local crop evolution
Promoting agrobiodiversity is a promising strategy for mitigating the negative effects of climate change on global food security. We highlight the central role evolutionary processes play in harnessing the potential of local crops by integrating genomics, archaeology, ethnobotany and traditional ecological knowledge (TEK).

Rotation with Soybean Improved Weed Control and Foxtail Millet Yield
Foxtail millet is an important characteristic grain crop in northern China. However, weeds compete seriously with foxtail millet and have long been a biological factor that has plagued foxtail millet production.

Development of Gulabjamun with Incorporation of Foxtail Millet
Background: Gulabjamun is a sweet indigenous commodity, commonly prepared from khoa in the country’s northern, western, and central regions. The present study was undertaken to develop value added gulabjamun with khoa and foxtail millet for better nutritional profile. Methods: Value added gulabjamun was prepared by incorporating foxtail millet flour at
