What is needed in LENR/FPE studies?

Journal of Condensed Matter Nuclear Science, 2012
ICCF16 marks nearly 22 years of research into the phenomenon first called “cold fusion”. This new field has expanded in breadth to the point that numerous acronyms compete to describe overlapping effects. Two of these are: LENR (Low Energy Nuclear Reactions) and its subset FPE (the Fleischmann Pons Effect). Research to elucidate the basic processes and

Is Personalized Mechanical Thrombectomy Based on Clot Characteristics Feasible? A Radiomics Model Using NCECT to Predict FPE in AIS Patients Undergoing Thromboaspiration

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Medicine
Background/Objectives: In patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS), the first pass effect (FPE) refers to the complete recanalization of an occluded vessel (TICI = 2C/3) with a single thrombectomy attempt.

A Federated Privacy-Enhancing Identity Management System (FPE-IMS)

2007 IEEE 18th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2007
Privacy and identity management should not been treated as generic problems providing generic solutions and architectures. A systematic approach is required against the problems of conducting identity management effortlessly, conveniently and smoothly solving interoperability problems that impede the communication and creation of unified ...

Is Stolper–Samuelson dangerous and FPE a failure?

International Review of Economics & Finance, 2010
Abstract The Heckscher–Ohlin model has spawned the twin theorems of Stolper–Samuelson and factor-price equalization (FPE), both of which concern the effects of international trade on wages and income distribution. A recent literature, critical of both theorems, claims that they no longer serve as a useful guide for understanding the complex web of ...

FPE–Transformer: A Feature Positional Encoding-Based Transformer Model for Attack Detection

open access: yesApplied Sciences (Switzerland)
The increase in cybersecurity threats has made attack detection systems critically important. Traditional deep learning methods often require large amounts of data and struggle to understand relationships between features effectively.

Extending the FPE and the effective number of parameters to neural estimators

Proceedings of International Conference on Neural Networks (ICNN'96), 2002
In this paper we deal with the problem of optimally dimensioning a neural model of regression type. The ultimate goal is to tune its complexity to the information present in the data set and to validate its performance without needing fresh data for cross-validation.

An Improvement of Akaike's FPE Criterion to Reduce its Variability

Journal of Time Series Analysis, 1998
The selection of the number of past observations to be included in a linear predictor (the order of the predictor) should be done with minimum variability, since it is not taken into account in the inference stage. For finite time series, there is a trade‐off between variability and optimality (in the sense of mean squared prediction error). The widely

Sensitive Data Protection of DBaaS Using OPE and FPE

2014 Fourth International Conference of Emerging Applications of Information Technology, 2014
DBaaS (Database as a Service) is a service provided and managed by the cloud provider and supports traditional database functionalities. The DBaaS use multi-tenant architecture to support multiple customers. The biggest problem concerned with DBaaS is the privacy and security of the data contained in the database stored in the cloud environment.

A New Integer FPE Scheme Based on Feistel Network

2012
Format-preserving encryption implies a block cipher which encrypts a plaintext of some specified format into a ciphertext of identical format. In the paper, we make an overview of various types of Feistel networks used in FPE schemes and show that all Feistel networks divide the input into two sub-blocks.

Self-Synchronized Encryption Using an FPE Block Cipher for Gigabit Ethernet

2019 15th Conference on Ph.D Research in Microelectronics and Electronics (PRIME), 2019
In this work, a new solution for self-synchronized encryption in physical layer at Gigabit Ethernet optical links is proposed. The solution is based in the block cipher operating mode called PSCFB (Pipelined Statistical Cipher Feedback) using as underlying PRF (Pseudo Random Function) an FPE (Format Preserving Encryption) block cipher.
