Generative Artificial Intelligence for Computer Vision in Endodontics: A Review of Current State and Future Potential

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Computer vision methods based on artificial intelligence (AI) have found numerous applications in endodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. While most current applications employ discriminative deep learning models for detection and classification tasks, the field is now witnessing the rise of generative AI (GenAI), a class of AI

Labor Market Monopsony Power and the Dynamic Gains to Openness Reforms

open access: yesInternational Economic Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We embed labor market monopsony into a dynamic heterogeneous‐firm general equilibrium model with exporting, horizontal FDI, and rich firm lifecycle dynamics. Rising marginal costs with monopsony slow and limit incumbent firm growth in response to liberalization, shifting adjustment to the extensive margin.

A new semilocal convergence theorem for Newton's method in banach space using hypotheses on the second Fréchet-derivative

open access: yes, 2001
A new global Kantorovich-type convergence theorem for Newton's method in Banach space is provided for approximating a solution of a nonlinear equation.

On Metric Choice in Dimension Reduction for Fréchet Regression

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, EarlyView.
Summary Fréchet regression is becoming a mainstay in modern data analysis for analysing non‐traditional data types belonging to general metric spaces. This novel regression method is especially useful in the analysis of complex health data such as continuous monitoring and imaging data.

Convergence of an Iteration of Fifth-Order Using Weaker Conditions on First Order Fréchet Derivative in Banach Spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
[EN] The convergence analysis both local under weaker Argyros-type conditions and semilocal under. omega-condition is established using first order Frechet derivative for an iteration of fifth order in Banach spaces.

A Conditional Tail Expectation Type Risk Measure for Time Series

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We consider the estimation of the conditional expectation 𝔼(Xh|X0>UX(1/p)), provided 𝔼|X0|<∞, at extreme levels, where (Xt)t∈ℤ$$ {\left({X}_t\right)}_{t\in \mathbb{Z}} $$ is a strictly stationary time series, UX$$ {U}_X $$ its tail quantile function, h$$ h $$ is a positive integer and p∈(0,1)$$ p\in \left(0,1\right) $$ is such that p→0$$ p\to ...

Fréchet Discrete Gradient and Hessian Operators on Infinite-Dimensional Spaces

open access: yes
Benefiting from the notion of Fréchet derivatives, we define Fréchet discrete operators, such as gradient and Hessian, on infinite-dimensional spaces. The Fréchet discrete gradient expands upon the concept of the discrete gradient of Gonzalez (1996) for ...

Density‐Valued ARMA Models by Spline Mixtures

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper proposes a novel framework for modeling time series of probability density functions by extending autoregressive moving average (ARMA) models to density‐valued data. The method is based on a transformation approach, wherein each density function on a compact domain [0,1]d$$ {\left[0,1\right]}^d $$ is approximated by a B‐spline ...

A Note on Local Polynomial Regression for Time Series in Banach Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This work extends local polynomial regression to Banach space‐valued time series for estimating smoothly varying means and their derivatives in non‐stationary data. The asymptotic properties of both the standard and bias‐reduced Jackknife estimators are analyzed under mild moment conditions, establishing their convergence rates.

An Improved Convergence Analysis of a Multi-Step Method with High-Efficiency Indices

open access: yesAlgorithms
A multi-step method introduced by Raziyeh and Masoud for solving nonlinear systems with convergence order five has been considered in this paper. The convergence of the method was studied using Taylor series expansion, which requires the function to be ...
