Macromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.Magnetic inks for direct ink writing (DIW), a 3D printing technique, are formulated based on acrylamide, iron oxide, and the rheology modifier laponite. They have shear thinning and thixotropic properties. Prototypes printed by DIW, followed by thermal curing, could be magnetically actuated.
