Analysis on products of fractals [PDF]

open access: bronzeTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 2004
For a class of post–critically finite (p.c.f.) fractals, which includes the Sierpinski gasket (SG), there is a satisfactory theory of analysis due to Kigami, including energy, harmonic functions and Laplacians. In particular, the Laplacian coincides with the generator of a stochastic process constructed independently by probabilistic methods.

Drip paintings and fractal analysis [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2009
It has been claimed [1-6] that fractal analysis can be applied to unambiguously characterize works of art such as the drip paintings of Jackson Pollock. This academic issue has become of more general interest following the recent discovery of a cache of disputed Pollock paintings.

Primality, Fractality, and Image Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
This paper deals with the hidden structure of prime numbers. Previous numerical studies have already indicated a fractal-like behavior of prime-indexed primes. The construction of binary images enables us to generalize this result. In fact, two-integer sequences can easily be converted into a two-color image.

Application of Fractal Analysis Methods of Textures Earth Surface Images for Ecological Setting Assessment [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
The use of fractal analysis methods for automatic textures earth surface image evaluation and ecological setting assessment has been proposed. Image processing techniques have been chosen for the following fractal analysis.

The dynamical analysis of a Tumor Growth model under the effect of fractal fractional Caputo-Fabrizio derivative

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Computer in Engineering, 2023
Fractal-fractional derivatives, which are still rather new, are frequently used to look into the complexities of an issue. Today, tumors are a prevalent and difficult-to-treat condition.

ANALYSIS ON A FRACTAL SET

open access: yesFractals, 2009
The formulation of a new analysis on a zero measure Cantor set C(⊂I = [0,1]) is presented. A non-Archimedean absolute value is introduced in C exploiting the concept of relative infinitesimals and a scale invariant ultrametric valuation of the form log ε-1 (ε/x) for a given scale ε > 0 and infinitesimals 0 < x < ε, x ∈ I\C.

Understanding Fractal Analysis? The Case of Fractal Linguistics [PDF]

open access: yesComplexus, 2006
Terms such as ‘self-similarity’, ‘space filling’, ‘fractal dimension’, and associated concepts have different meanings to different people depending on their background. We examine how methodology in fractal analysis is influenced by diverse definitions of fundamental concepts that lead to difficulties in understanding fundamental issues.

Evaluation of long term storage of apples by means of fractal analysis

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Engineering, 2003
Realization of long-term apple storage requires the most detailed information about the flesh structure and texture, whose quality is contributing by responsible way to the whole quality of the evaluated fruits.

Fractal Analysis of Lung Structure in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2020
Chest CT is often used for localizing and quantitating pathologies associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). While simple measurements of areas and volumes of emphysema and airway structure are common, these methods do not capture the

A Fractal Statistical Analysis of Enron Stock Prices

open access: yesRecoletos Multidisciplinary Research Journal, 2014
This study examined the stock prices of Enron for the periods 1997 to 2002 with the use of fractal statistical analysis. The researchers posited that, since stock prices are products of human decisions, it should follow a fractal distribution.
