Journal of Functional Programming, 2013
AbstractThis paper describes some experiences of using fractal image compression as the subject of an assignment for a functional programming course using Haskell. The students were fascinated by the reproduction of images from their encodings and engaged well with the exercise which involved only elementary functional programming techniques.

Fractal color image compression
Proceedings 13th Brazilian Symposium on Computer Graphics and Image Processing (Cat. No.PR00878), 2002The paper presents a new fractal color image compression method, called Fractal Hierarchical Color Block Coding (FHCBC), which transforms the three-color planes of a color image into a one-component image by extracting correlation among them. It hierarchically divides the three-color planes into homogeneous blocks, and for each such block, the variance

Fractals, 1994
This paper begins by presenting a simple explanation of the main ideas in fractal image compression. It then presents a brief discussion of the current state of the art along with some results comparing fractal encoding, JPEG, and a wavelet scheme. The conclusion contains references to many of the latest theoretical and implementation results.

Abstract What is multimedia? It is a special publication or “title”; it can be “read” inter actively on a computer screen and it is made up of text, pictures and probably sound and motion video as well. Early multimedia titles ran on microcomputers such as the Apple Mac or IBM PCs and popular sources of material for such early titles ...

Multi-Fractal Image Compression
2019 International Conference on Machine Learning, Big Data, Cloud and Parallel Computing (COMITCon), 2019In this paper we are calculating the fractal dimension of images with irregular objects and also are representing the computation of fractal dimension via Euclidean dimension sets. We have applied box counting algorithm for estimation of fractal dimension for dynamic and iterated functions.
