Using small-angle X-ray scattering to investigate the compaction behaviour of a granulated clay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The compaction behaviour of a commercial granulated clay (magnesium aluminium smectite, gMgSm) was investigated using macroscopic pressure-density measurements, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray microtomography (XμT) and ...

Merge Operation Effect On Image Compression Using Fractal Technique

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم, 2007
Fractal image compression gives some desirable properties like fast decoding image, and very good rate-distortion curves, but suffers from a high encoding time. In fractal image compression a partitioning of the image into ranges is required.

Research on image compression encoding based on fixed dictionary

open access: yesSystems Science & Control Engineering
With the widespread application of IoT technology, a large amount of image data must be transmitted through networks. Owing to the current limited bandwidth, it is necessary to compress images to satisfy the requirements for real-time image transmission.

Mapping Nanoscale Protein‐Corona Kinetics of DoE‐Optimized Perfluorocarbon Encapsulated‐PLGA Nanoparticles by In Situ, Time‐Resolved Synchrotron SAXS

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐phase workflow (OFAT screening followed by central composite design) maps how processing variables tune PFCE‐PLGA nanoparticle size, dispersity, surface charge, loading, and 19F‐MRI signal. In situ, time‐resolved synchrotron SAXS tracks albumin‐corona growth on intact dispersions and reveals PFCE‐dependent adsorption pathways.

Anew method for speeding up FractalCompression using different value of affine transformation and highest gray value of pixel

open access: yesJournal of Kufa for Mathematics and Computer, 2012
In this paper  new algorithm for  speeding up fractal image compression  is presented. A new adapted method based on computing the highest value of the pixel of the image to reduce the computational complexity in the encoder stage and which are led ...

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Comparative analysis of edge-based fractal image compression using nearest neighbor technique in various frequency domains

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2018
In this paper, edge based fractal image compression is proposed for various frequency domains. Range and domain blocks of similar edge property are mapped to lowest DCT coefficient in a vertical and horizontal direction into 2D coordinate System.

Fast Full-Search Algorithm of Fractal Image Compression for Acceleration Image Processing

open access: yesScience Journal of University of Zakho, 2023
A new processing algorithm based on fractal image compression is proposed for image processing efficiency. An image will partition into non-overlapping blocks called range blocks and overlapping blocks called domain blocks, with the domain blocks ...

Ductility Tuning via Cluster Network Characteristics of Porous Components

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Network optimization via cluster characteristics induced by interaction of stress concentration is proposed, demonstrating increased cluster size and dispersion in non‐uniform porous components. The optimized structures exhibit, for the first time, that enhanced ductility and damage progression is controllable through zigzag cluster network designed by
