The Energy–Duration Relationship in Astrophysical Self-organized Criticality Systems
Scaling laws in astrophysical systems that involve energy, geometry, and spatiotemporal evolution provide the theoretical framework for physical models of energy dissipation processes.

Financial Applications of Human Perception of Fractal Time Series
The purpose of this thesis is to explore the interaction between people’s financial behaviour and the market’s fractal characteristics. In particular, I have been interested in the Hurst exponent, a measure of a series’ fractal dimension and ...

Numerical Investigation of Methane Transport Within and Around Evolving Cracks
A validated model shows that natural gas leakage induces soil deformation and forms three key cracks. When diffusion is low, methane moves mainly along the primary crack, demonstrating how natural fractures reshape pathways and significantly enhance methane migration.

Brain–Computer Interfaces: The Dawn of a New Era in Disease Treatment
This study investigates the potential of brain–computer interface (BCI) technology in treating neuropsychiatric disorders, such as movement and communication barriers. Our review examines the history, signal paradigms, and diverse applications of BCI while also discussing ongoing research into novel materials and emerging technologies that offer ...

Mechanical stability in flexible perovskite solar cells: Interface engineering and device design
Statistics of the improvement methods for f‐PSCs. Abstract Flexible perovskite solar cells (f‐PSCs) demonstrate significant potential for application in next‐generation wearable electronic devices and photovoltaic building integration due to their high power conversion efficiency and excellent power‐to‐weight ratio. However, the inherent brittleness of

Origins of scaling in FX markets
Typical data sets employed by economists and financial analysts do not exceed a few hundred or thousand observations per series. However, in the last decade data sets containing tick-by-tick observations have become available.

Wavelet Multiresolution Analysis of High-Frequency Asian FX Rates, Summer 1997 [PDF]
FX pricing processes are nonstationary and their frequency characteristics are time-dependent. Most do not conform to geometric Brownian motion, since they exhibit a scaling law with a Hurst exponent between zero and 0.5 and fractal dimensions between 1 ...
