A note on fractal sets and the measurement of fractal dimension

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and Its Applications, 1996
Abstract The fractal dimension of a set in the Euclidean n-space may depend on the applied concept of fractal dimension. Several concepts are considered here, and in a first part, properties are given for sets such that they have the same fractal dimension for all concepts. In particular, self-similar sets hold these properties. The second part deals

FRACTAL INTERPOLANTS ON THE s-SETS

Fractals, 2010
In this paper, we mainly study the s-sets (regular 1-sets), which is the most important fractal in the study of fractal geometry. The regular 1-sets are subsets of countable collection of rectifiable curves. Also we define new real maps on the s-sets by using the methodology based on fractal interpolation functions.

Characterizing riddled fractal sets

Physical Review E, 1996
Recent studies have revealed that riddled fractal sets, sets whose conventionally defined fractal dimensions are integers, occur commonly in chaotic dynamical systems. We demonstrate that these exotic fractal sets exhibit a sign-singular scaling behavior with nontrivial scaling exponents.
