Ultrastable Water‐in‐Water Emulsions by Addition of Polyion Complex Micelles

Water‐in‐water emulsions from mixtures of dextran and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) prepared in the presence of polyion complex micelles display an increase of stability from few hours to several months. Both dextran‐in‐PEO and PEO‐in‐dextran were stable against coalescence over this period of time.

The Filler Network Index: A Viscosity‐Independent Rheological Criterion for Quantifying Silica Architecture in Unvulcanized Rubber Compounds

SEM images of unmodified (U30) and TESPT‐grafted (U30‐SCA) silica compounds show that pre‐grafting eliminates agglomerates. Stress relaxation data fitted with a constrained five‐element Weichert model give discrete relaxation times (τ1$$ {\tau}_1 $$‐τ5$$ {\tau}_5 $$), both reduced by grafting.
