Embedding Linear Transformations in Fractal Image Coding
2007Many desirable properties make fractals a powerful mathematic model applied in several image processing and pattern recognition tasks: image coding, segmentation, feature extraction and indexing, just to cite some of them. Unfortunately, they are based on a strong asymmetric scheme, so suffering from very high coding times.

Fractal Transformations and the Wavelet Multiresolution Representation
Fractals, 1997We present in this paper the link between overlapping fractal transformation and the discrete wavelet multiresolution representation. Conclusions drawn from this study show that the fractal transformation induces an interpolation process in the wavelet multiresolution domain.

Fractal Image Compression Using Iterated Transforms
1992This article presents background, theory, and specific implementation notes for an image compression scheme based on fractal transforms. Results from various implementations are presented and compared to standard image compression techniques.

Fractal Analysis And Wavelet Transforms
1995Abstract This chapter is devoted to a short introduction to fractals in general and their analysis through wavelet transforms. We may distinguish at least three aspects in fractals an underlying dynamical system, global self-similarity, local self-similarity.
