Recent strategy to study fractal-order viscoelastic polymer materials using an ancient Chinese algorithm and He’s formulation

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control, 2022
This paper introduces a novel methodology to determine the frequency-amplitude relationship of fractal-order viscoelastic polymer materials using the two-scale fractal dimension transform, the equivalent power-form representation of the conservative ...

An Online Detection Method for Coal Dry Screening Based on Image Processing and Fractal Analysis

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
In coal dry screening, online detection for screening efficiency is a significant challenge. Notwithstanding, the method of image processing is strenuous to implement in this field due to the complex surface texture of shattered coal.

Theoretical and numerical analysis of nonlinear Boussinesq equation under fractal fractional derivative

open access: yesNonlinear Engineering, 2023
A nonlinear Boussinesq equation under fractal fractional Caputo’s derivative is studied. The general series solution is calculated using the double Laplace transform with decomposition. The convergence and stability analyses of the model are investigated

Pressure Transient Analysis of Dual Fractal Reservoir

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
A dual fractal reservoir transient flow model was created by embedding a fracture system simulated by a tree-shaped fractal network into a matrix system simulated by fractal porous media. The dimensionless bottom hole pressure model was created using the

Multi-Focus Image Fusion Based on Fractal Dimension and Parameter Adaptive Unit-Linking Dual-Channel PCNN in Curvelet Transform Domain

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
Multi-focus image fusion is an important method for obtaining fully focused information. In this paper, a novel multi-focus image fusion method based on fractal dimension (FD) and parameter adaptive unit-linking dual-channel pulse-coupled neural network (

Fractal self-transform functions

open access: yesJournal of the Optical Society of America A, 2007
The concept of fractal (self-similar) self-transform functions is examined. A general method to prove existence of these functions is introduced, and necessary conditions for this existence are derived. The results are general and apply to all transforms with product-type kernels.

Performance Evaluation of Fractal Wavelet Packet Transform on Wireless Communication Systems

open access: yesJournal of ICT Research and Applications
The performance of the phase shift keying (PSK) modulation technique over additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and multipath propagation channels generally becomes worse for higher-order modes.

Patterning the Void: Combining L‐Systems with Archimedean Tessellations as a Perspective for Tissue Engineering Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a novel multi‐scale scaffold design using L‐fractals arranged in Archimedean tessellations for tissue regeneration. Despite similar porosity, tiles display vastly different tensile responses (1–100 MPa) and deformation modes. In vitro experiments with hMSCs show geometry‐dependent growth and activity. Over 55 000 tile combinations

Fractal calculus and its geometrical explanation

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
Fractal calculus is very simple but extremely effective to deal with phenomena in hierarchical or porous media. Its operation is almost same with that by the advanced calculus, making it much accessible to all non-mathematicians.
