The chemistry of fractionally charged atoms
Lettere Al Nuovo Cimento Series 2, 1982An effective search for free quarks in matter requires understanding the chemistry of atoms with fractionally charged nuclei. Their chemistry is determined by interpolation in terms of the known chemistry of neutral atoms and ions. Electronegativities and ionic crystal radii of quark atoms are computed.

Chemistry of odortypes in mice: Fractionation and bioassay
Journal of Chemical Ecology, 1993Mice can discriminate samples of urine obtained from two groups of inbred mice that are genetically identical except in their major histocompatibility complex (MHC) haplotype (congenic mice), whereas they cannot distinguish urine samples from two genetically identical groups of mice.

Bioresource Technology, 2022
Cosolvent Enhanced Lignocellulosic Fractionation (CELF) is an emerging solvolysis pretreatment to fractionate lignocellulosic biomass. Herein, the bioconversion performance of CELF lignin was fully evaluated for the first time. Results showed that CELF lignin possessed higher content of carboxylic acid OH, lower molecular weight, and disappeared β-O-4 ...

Representing Fractional Distributions in Chemistry
Journal of Chemical Education, 2008Many phenomena in chemistry involve fractional distributions. Sometimes it is a chemical substance that is fractionally distributed, other times it is a chemical process that is fractionally distributed. The purpose of this paper is to present a common approach to the representation of all fractional distributions.

Foam Fractionation of Lycopene: An Undergraduate Chemistry Experiment
Journal of Chemical Education, 2010A novel experiment for the extraction of lycopene from tomato paste by foam fractionation is described. Foam fractionation is a process for separating and concentrating chemicals by utilizing differences in their surface activities. Extraction of lycopene by foam fractionation is a new method that has not been previously reported in the literature ...
