Experimental verification of filters using fractional-order capacitor and inductor emulators
2016 39th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), 2016Fractional-order filter design examples, realized through the substitution of fractional-order capacitors and inductors by appropriate active emulators, are presented in this paper. The implementation of emulators has been achieved using Current Feedback Operational Amplifiers (CFOAs) as active element.

Three Fractional-Order-Capacitors-Based Oscillators with Controllable Phase and Frequency
Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 2017This paper presents a generalization of six well-known quadrature third-order oscillators into the fractional-order domain. The generalization process involves replacement of three integer-order capacitors with fractional-order ones. The employment of fractional-order capacitors allows a complete tunability of oscillator frequency and phase.

Realizations of simple fractional-order capacitor emulators with electronically-tunable capacitance
Integration, 2019Abstract A novel resistorless topology for implementing fractional-order capacitor emulators, based on the employment of Operational Transconductance Amplifiers (OTAs) as active elements, is presented in this paper. The benefits of this topology are its simplicity in terms of component count, compared to other existing topologies in the literature ...

Electrolytic computer‐grade capacitors (ECGCs) are vastly implemented in energy storage systems. However, their models are not accurate and simple as other kinds of capacitors. For example, ECGCs and supercapacitors share many characteristics but have some differences because of their physicochemical properties, so it is wrong to assume their ...

Emulation of Fractional-Order Capacitors (CPEs) and Inductors (FOIs)
2017The design of fractional-order capacitors and inductor emulators is introduced in a systematic way procedure, where the second-order approximation of the CFE is utilized in order to approximate the variable s α of fractional calculus. OTAs are employed as building blocks, using MOS transistors biased in subthreshold region, offering the advantage of ...

Implementation of improved fractional order capacitor approximations in analog circuits
2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP), 2016The paper aims at various techniques to approximate fractional capacitor using passive elements. The fractional capacitors have been used to implement an astable multivibrator, sinusoidal oscillator, function generator and filters. PSPICE simulation results have been shown for the circuits both with and without using the fractional capacitors.

On the behavior of distributed networks of fractional-order capacitors
Journal of Physics D: Applied PhysicsAbstract Fractional calculus has seen tremendous applications in the past couple of decades particularly in the electrochemistry field for the modeling of anomalous dynamics at electrode/electrolyte interfaces. At the core of this is the fractional-order capacitor (also known as the constant phase element (CPE ...

Design, fabrication and application of fractional-order capacitors
2019The fractional–order capacitors add an additional degree of freedom over conventional capacitors in circuit design and facilitate circuit configurations that would be impractical or impossible to implement with conventional capacitors. We propose a generic strategy for fractional-order capacitor fabrication that integrates layers of conductive ...

Emulation of current excited fractional-order capacitors and inductors using OTA topologies
Microelectronics Journal, 2016A novel topology suitable for emulating fractional-order capacitors and inductors using current excitation is achieved using a fractional-order differentiator/integrator block and appropriately configured Operational Transconductance Amplifiers. The scheme is capable of emulating both fractional-order capacitors and fractional-order inductors without ...
